Just a few tidbits on how they roll over here. You get in a taxi and ALWAYS agree a price before getting in or they'll charge you 10x more on what the correct fare should really be (no joke)... So say you agree $3 but only have a $10 note to pay upon arrival of the destination. They'll 100% claim to have no notes lower than $5 when it comes to getting your change and screw you without a shred of remorse for $2.

But you learn fast and don't get in the fuckers cab until he shows you he has the full change to give at the other end..


That is just one small example and every single cash transaction involves an attempted hustle. I'm used to it now and reckon I get by pretty well and even deliver my own bit of hustle justice when the opportunity arrises.


But note that everything is so dirt cheap that even the most naive tourist won't notice their wallets feel too much lighter after 2 weeks of constantly getting bent over.
