that was fucking horrific
every extra mma rule adds potential for fuckery. There's no real room for nuance. If knees are allowed at all, they should be always allowed. Same with elbows, either always or never. Eliminate these split-second judgment calls as much as possible. Replay won't solve much, better to get rid of situations that might need replay.
What a fail PPV card.
Rumble strategy was so horrible out of the gate and don't get me started on the Gegard/Weidman fight.
Rumble retiring now like did he even want to win?
im saying this for the first time: fuck aj.
that was arguably one of the top 3 dumbest game plans in mma.

Nice shout out to Goldie
I dunno what's worse... Cormier as a babyface or a heel.
Just be yourself good god.
so much cringe
One of the best parts about loving mma? The shittiness of this ppv made it memorable and fun. After years of seeing all sorts of weirdness, I don't get angry at shitty calls and decisions and inexplicable nonsense anymore, I've learned to love it. I honestly get more angry when the WWE does dumb shit, because they at least had a chance to think things out. MMA dumb shit just happens on the fly, and it can be tremendously, comically beautiful sometimes.
Plus, I'll listen to Dominick Cruz talk fighting all day.

Even though I lost over 20k tonight, may chargeback cox for the PPV 59.95.
:freelewfather
I agree completely.
It happens even to cards that are mega stacked where just about all the fights don't turn out good. The biggest issue with this card is the people (and the UFC) were hoping the last two fights made the card and it didn't work out tonight.
I feel bad for those who bought a ticket, even if in this case it was NY fans who might be the toughest audience to please.
You make a solid point on WWE. They really botched WM last week with poor time management for I'd say the last 5 matches which mostly were bad compared to the first half of the ppv. With the scripting control they have their isn't really an excuse for this.
im sorry, i just cant get there.
this sport has been crip walking backwards in quality for years. we are at a point where a ppv that isnt a cesspool of underperformance and outright incompetence is black astronaut quality rare.
and it reallllly didnt used to be like this.

While ppl will remember that WM for different reasons, like Brock/Goldberg and Taker's retirement, for sure the main takeaway everyone had when it was over was how GD long it was.
Back in the day, Shane was always trying to get Vince to start or buy an mma org, and made a real big push to buy PRIDE, but Vince wasn't having any of it. He couldn't conceive of investing money in fighters and storylines when you couldn't control the outcomes.
That's just it they had it starting at 5:30 running until just after midnight. For as long as it went they still rushed the last two hours because of giving more time earlier. When they divided the shows up with more titles this was bad for the length of the show as well.
I remember Shane trying to get an MMA company too. He saw the potential but Vince is strong for the old school, traditional scripted matches. He also may have felt they have a worldwide monopoly on wrestling and why branch off to a competitive viewership product? Who knows with Vince though he did attempt that fail football league.
Speaking of which Cormier just pulled a Randy Orton on the Fox Sports Post Show:
