    Rio Deep Stacks $235 6/7/14

    My stack 10,000
    Middle position 20,000
    Button 25,000
    Blinds 300/600 $75 ante

UTG I look at 2 Aces and limp with the intention of raising (mistake #1)

Middle position raises to 2,100 & the button calls

Action folded to me and I make it 7,500 leaving me with 2,500 I should of just moved in there (mistake #2)

Middle position calls and button tanks and calls

    Flop comes 2-7-4

I move in for my last 2,500 Middle tanks and calls as does the button

Turn is a 8 and action goes check, check

River is a 3 and middle position checks, button bets 5,000 and middle position quickly folds

Button shows A-5 for the river straight

I feel like I played this hand horribly, any feedback is greatly appreciated

Honestly I don't think you moving in for the final 2500 pre-flop would have changed much. The guy with A5 was probably calling 7500 more if he was calling 5000 more.

I don't like the AA limp, because it makes the hand too hard to play postflop. It becomes very tough to ascertain opponnets' holdings in the blinds (they will literally have any two), and even the non-blinds can have all sorts of weird hands.

Also, the AA limp/reraise pretty much turns your hand face-up, and you will frequently get folds when you come back over the top. However, if you open raise with the AA and get 3-bet, you will often get called when you 4-bet or shove.

AA actually makes the most money in NL tournaments when most or all of the money goes in preflop. AA is very vulnerable to getting stacked off on big pots on dry-looking boards where your opponent ends up holding two pair or a set.

Lol you got your stack effectively in preflop 3 way. Don't know why Druff took the bait.

I'd just min raise preferably in this spot unless you've actively shoved 3 or 4 of the last 15 hands which in that case I'd go with shoving.

I know people might think that is overkill and you will kill your action which yes that is true in most circumstances but if your image is active with several shoves in recent hands prior then people aren't ever going to think you have even close to AA but will think when you all the sudden are min raising utg that you could be really strong after all the recent shoves prior (maybe).

Don't limp UTG with AA hoping to get the re-raise jam in a live tournament but in the right circumstances maybe do that play with AT or whatever repping what people will think you have by doing this so they fold.

More advice advocating not getting it in to triple pre with aa. Obviously this is the perfect table to limp aa. It's not the old days when everyone limping utg has aces. It's also not like you were playing a million big blinds deep.

I think you'd want someone to call 75% of your stack preflop with A5 if you're holding AA. You got a dream situation and was over 90% favorite to win the hand and maybe other folded Ax as he clearly didn't have pocket pair. Perhaps if you went all in preflop...the A5 does fold maybe. I sorta agree with Druff that if he was calling 7500 he would most likely call 10000. But certain bad players will call with a bad hand preflop and don't mind showing the winner if they catch...BUT...they don't like showing that bad hand in a preflop all in. Plus they get scared from "All In" as they feel they're putting in their stack with A5 when they're not.

the limp utg with AA is fine if your table is active and you know that there will be a raise coming most time -- just 4bet ship there after the raise comes. esp in these deep stacks where the blinds/antes get so big you want to max your value with the hand.

    you played it fine tbqh
