No shit?
Save a Cow - Eat a Vegetarian, they're grass-fed.
Is it just me, or is something about that show incredibly depressing?
Like all genuinely good comedy, yes.
Whats interesting is that when I rewatch old episodes, the balances tip away from depressing and towards incredibly funny. I dont think that its a case of me being inoculated against the depression, I think its a case of me being somehow cathartically cured of it, which is really the whole point of art.

I like to think that I have a high tolerance for feel-bad drama, but some reason I can't really stomach Louie. I got through season 1 and left it at that. That's not to say that it's bad.
I'd love to hear the thinking behind this. While a lot of comedy is based on "pain" of some sort, a lot of genuinely good comedy is not. Depending on the subject, human reaction, whether it's depression or joy would be unique to the individual.
I'll be happy to hear this is just a level. That would be funny and yet somehow depressing.
I'm just trying to imagine how depressed Louie would be watching your shit Thomas.
Somehow missed this entirely, this post and the release of a new season. MBA and shit I guess. Still weird that it totally escaped my radar.
On the plus side I'm 4 in and loving it. Just so great.
