Fucking brutal. I was sent home from the hospital 3 times. First time they said flu, next acute infection, finally they said I tested positive for strep. This was all over a period of 8 days. My temp was never below 103.5. The next day after the strep diagnosis I checked my fever and it came in at 105.5. Back to the emergency room. they tell me my heart rate is elevated, my white blood cells are really low, my platelets count has dropped, but they still weren't sure what was going on. They moved me to a room. My wife went home and started googling my symptoms and came up with measles. She called the hospital and told them to check me for it. They moved me to a quarantine room and started testing. It came back positive for measles. This was without a doubt the worst experience of my life. There were points that I seriously thought I was dying. I went through all this because my stupid hippy mother never vaccinated me.
