60's: I wasn't born but it's the standout year, mainly because The Beatles and other great British bands set the world on fire with their new-ish brand of music.
Also music really changed the way how people behaved and lived their lives back then. Especially with the birth music festivals, weed and LCD... Would loved to of been around for the start of all that..
70's: Nursery rhymes was my music of choice back then. But bands such as Pink Floyd, The Who, Doors, Rolling Stones, Queen etc. etc. etc. really took off and further inspired many other great artists..
Plenty of great stuff but lots of it comes off as a bit dark for me... Mostly because that's the vibe the 70's always gives off - imo
80's: This is when Music first became part of my life with my favorites being Dire Straits, Talking Heads, Genesis and Pink Floyd... I know those bands were formed in the previous decades. But they were certainly new to me..
Was also plenty of pop music that I found super catchy and enjoyed.. But also mountains of complete garbage that somehow made it to the top of the charts.. I mean Rick Astley? (You also may not believe this, and should not believe this - but it was me and my best buddy at the time Nathan Jones who first invented the "Rick Roll" back in the late 80's) We were live pranking people with that shit long before anybody else ever did.... That is a true story - if you believe.
The cool 90's brought some awesome stuff imo... But they also brought in rap music in huge doses, and I hated rap music - still do.
Also hated Boy Bands. And fuck me, there was far too much of that shit on offer..
2000's and beyond offer plenty to enjoy. But the amount of manufactured garbage that gets pumped out these days has totally put me off giving the new and upcoming bands a chance..
Apologies for the rambling nonsense above, but you can blame OSA for inspiring me to type above nonsense.
