Well if nothing else, get the iPhone because more apps are available - for the next year or so that's just the way it is.
I did Google it though, and I cant answer about the Evo, but here's 10 reasons why you should get an iPhone instead of a Droid:
Thinness. I understand that the Droid 2 has a slide out keyboard, which makes it exceptionally bigger, but even when I slide the keyboard out, and only look at the part of the device that is its main source of power, it is still thicker than the iPhone 4. Thinness big part of my ✓ list when I am looking at a phone to buy.
App Store. I have had my fair share of iOS devices too, including all four iPod Touches, and the iPhone 3G before my Droid 2. Throughout that time, I took the App Store for granted. When I first got my Droid 2, back in February of 2010, I figured that the App Store on it would have just as good of games, entertainment, and social networking apps, but I was clearly wrong. When I first started looking for all my favorite games, I could see that none of them were even there, and if they were, the app was either terribly developed, or was a fake app. Then, when I started looking for some social networking apps, such as Facebook, I found that the Facebook app itself didn’t even have chat integrated into it!
Retina display. The display on the Droid 2 is good, but when I compare it to the display on the iPhone 4, I only see fuzziness on the Droid 2 afterwards. So, if Google wants to keep their smartphone at a high enough level, so that it can compete with the iPhones, it really needs to enhance the pixels on the next Droid.
FaceTime, or video chat. Now I understand that you can only FaceTime in a WiFi zone on the iPhone 4, but Skype has recently sent out an update to all Skype app owners with an update that allows you to video chat anywhere, even on 3G.
iBooks. iBooks is a virtual reading app that Apple first launched with the iPad, back in January of 2010. Since then, it has made it’s way to the iPhone 4. I will admit that I rarely read books before iBooks came out. I find myself reading on the iPad, and the iPod Touch all the time, whether it’s for school or enjoyment.
Multitasking. I absolutely love multitasking on all the iOS devices. I find myself playing a game, and then finding out I have a notification on Facebook. Before multitasking, I would usually quit out of the game, get on to Facebook, comment back, and then find myself trying the to launch the game that I was playing before only to find that it started over. And thats what I have been doing with my Droid 2, which is really a pain in the ass.
Folders on the iOS devices. Folders are a quick and easy way to organize all your apps into specific places, without having to look for them all the time. If you still don’t understand, then imagine the folders you have on your Mac or PC desktop, and put it on your phone. The Droid 2 does have a folders app, but I found that it wouldn’t even work when I pressed on it after using it for a couple of hours.
Originality. The iPhone was the phone that changed everything back in 2007. A whole two years later, Google announced the Droid, a smartphone that took everything from the iPhone, put it on a square device, and called it revolutionary. If they call that business, then I don’t even want to be a part of that company by buying one of their products.
Camera. The Droid 2 has a 5 megapixel camera with dual flash. The iPhone 4 has a 5 megapixel camera with flash. The only difference between these two cameras is quality. On the Droid 2, the picture quality is flat out bad, it doesn’t show its true colors at all. But, on the iPhone 4, I found that story to be completely different. The camera quality was not amazing, but a lot better than the Droid 2.
iMovie. On the iPhone 4, you can easily shoot video, and edit it, all without having to upload it on to your computer. On the Droid 2, it has nothing like this, which makes it a little hard to compare with. But, at the same time, shows how much better Apple has integrated their smartphone technology.
