If I'm reading it correctly, the structure you've envisioned requires 8 separate rounds -- the first seven of which must end completely before the next round starts. (Edit: and that's just for 14 teams). Is the idea then to spread this over two or three nights?

Yeah the more people we get the longer it is going to be obviously. If we got everybody here for a set time on a Saturday, we could do the prelims in probably 3-4 hours. I know that is a long time for people to wait around, but that is the best way to keep it organized. Then do the championships the next day, or during radio.

Belly Buster said he can probably set up 20 HU tourney tables.

It will most likely go like this.

    ROUND 1 WINNERS BRACKET
    Templar vs. LLL Table 1
Searless vs. Tony Bags Table 2
    and so on....

    Then once those are done,

    ROUND 2 WINNERS BRACKET
    NAME vs. NAME Table 1
    and so on....

    ROUND 1 LOSERS BRACKET
    NAME VS NAME Table 8
    and so on....

Once the games are done on a round, it will only take me a minute to update the bracket, and set up the next round.

The only thing people are going to have to promise is to not jump and gun. We got to keep this organized, especially with so many people in it.

It will def be a 3-4 hour commitment on a day to those who play, and keep winning. It may also go faster too.

This looks like a good double-elimination structure for 32 players:

I used to play these a lot, 50 BB was enough, I thought, as long as it isn't some super turbo mode.

    Now I'm wondering about Steve-o
in one post he says he sucks at NLHU
and one he asks that blinds get doubled?????

J/k Steve, just found that curious.
It's all a matter of perspective I guess I deal with poker and poker players day in and day out, so I suppose my idea of "Bad" is a little different than others. Still, I have very little HUNLHE experience, so I should be an easy match for any competent HU player... on the flip-side I did earn a living playing poker for 5 years (and still would be had I not gotten married and had kids), so I'm not an absolute fish.
I figured you could hold your own.
I was Just Fing around, if I'm entering a tourney I think I'm at a dis-advantage (which I probably am here looking at the line up), I'd want the blinds to be as low as possible is all. So you must one of those honest poker players I hear about every now and then.

I'm pretty much only available for this on weekday evenings. (east coast here) I understand if most people want to do this on a weekend -- I'll just sit it out -- no big deal.

Who says it's all gotta be on one day? Can't we break it down over a period of time? perhaps?

Yeah we can def break it down. It may just be hard for some people to to be around at the set times on a couple different dates.

To make it easier we can also just do single elimination, if its going to be hard for people to make a commitment.

Which ever way you guys wanna do it, is cool with me.
