MGM's M Life Insider Busted For Stealing Your Points

MGM analyst Tony Ahn accessed M Life databases (then the MGM Players Club), prowling for unused free play, transferred them to fake accounts and had his cronies use the points to grind out some winnings at the slot machines.... $863,895.

Wow good find. I wonder if they are going to reimburse points to the players that were robbed in this.

The moral of this story is, if you are doing anything shady or illegal do not discuss it over any form of electronic communications.

Also, you can bet your ass nobody is getting any points back.

The fact that they allowed transferring of points in the first place was just begging for this to happen.

I imagine that they had this feature because MGM's VIP system was a merging of several casinos' individual rewards programs, but they should have at least programmed safeguards to where points can only be transferred to people with the same name and date of birth.

Well Druff, maybe they did have the same names and DOB. All it said in the article was the points were sent to dummy accounts. The customer service people def had all their info, and the ability the make infinite accounts whenever they needed.
