1st time in vegas. How should I fire off my roll?

I'll be in vegas from june 1st-29th for my first world series. I'm bringing 10k and looking for the best value at nlh tournaments/cash. I'd like to play a couple 1k's. Any suggestions on events, satellites or cash games that I should definitely play would be great. Also, I'd appreciate some ideas on how I should spread out my action so that I'm not busto in the first week. As far as my skill level, I should have a solid edge in any of the 1ks or 1.5ks, and cash games up to 5-10. Thanks in advance.

I haven't played the daily Bellagio 1k events in a few years. When I did play them, I was surprised at how soft the field was, but things might have changed.

I would avoid the 10-20 NL at Bellagio, as that is often a tough game. 5-10 is hit and miss whether it's good or not. I have seen some bad players at the 5-10, but I have also seem some tight/nitty games that really don't give any value. I haven't played at the Rio NL cash games, so I can't tell you how those are, but I imagine there will probably be some good ones. However, don't automatically expect the games will be good, as the WSOP also brings a lot of good players from out of town.

The NL tournaments at the WSOP tend to have fairly soft fields in the $1000 and $1500 events. Most of these players will donk themselves off in the early goings, but you can take advantage of them early on to build a big stack, provided you get cards. Keep in mind that, while most play scared, they also don't like to fold, so don't try to blow them off an overpair. Also keep in mind that the deck might completely shut you out in these tournaments, and you might very well walk away with nothing. You only start with 3k chips in the $1000 and 4500 chips in the $1500, so you really can struggle if you don't break out to a good start within the first 4 levels.

To BGC I believe you spelled 'you have a massive edge' wrong. But I agree with that bit about there being a lot of variance in tournaments and that I'm just shot taking. I appreciate it.

Also do they have or is there any value in, satellites into 1-3k events? Are there other 200-500 buy-ins at other casinos that I should check out?

Only 200-500 you should be concerned with is the black hookers. Negrociate a price and stick to it no matter what the bitch says.

For value on a smallerish bankroll when you want to stay in action for a month, i dont think you can go wrong with the daily $235 deepstack at the Rio. You are right there at the series, right in the middle of the action with all of the pros. The fields in these can be huge some days and final table money is very significant.
