    Online Poker Cheaters series

The first of a 10-part series I'm doing on my blog, feel free to discuss/debate in this thread or leave comments at the blog. Would like to hear some other worthy additions that I may have overlooked

    Part 1: Sorel Mizzi
    Part 2: Justin Bonomo
    Part 3: Josh Fields
    Part 4: Nick Niergarth
    Part 5: Russ Hamilton
    Part 6: Nick Grudzien
    Part 7: Brian Townsend

Thanks Druff. They're a little cursory, but I did this for two reasons:

#1 people don't really like reading more than 500 words, and specifics tend to be boring
#2 I was actually hoping for more comments and debate on certain points, where the offenses could be explored more thoroughly (thus negating point #1)

I think some of the upcoming ones will be more interesting like Jose Macedo (since his offenses got overshadowed by the backstory and DIH and Jungleman involvement) and StoxTrader.

I remember this story like it was yesterday. In the end, it was actually a friend that outed him for multi-accounting.

The way he was cheating was a little different than others. Party Poker back in the day had a glitch in their software. Just like any other poker site, when you try opening two game lobbys, it will 100% of the time block you from doing so. Well ZeeJustin found out that if he clicked on the Party Poker room icon frantically and repeatedly, it would eventually open up another lobby.

So he was actually multi-accounting in the same tournaments, with 5 or 6 different accounts, from the same computer.
Of all the money e'er I had, I spent it in good company

Correct. This was actually very widespread (maybe widespread is too strong a term, but it was most definetly a serious issue) amongst the younger online tournament players (who kept the glitch something of a hidden secret) and amazingly only ZeeJustin and JJProdigy were hammered for it in the end. those early days of online poker (from 1998 to about 2006 were really like the wild west.

'Steve-O, what are your feelings on the fact that your websites captcha gave me the word "Gunts" in order to verify my post?

My feeling is that is one of those words that is dirty without actually being dirty: Me and a friend used to joke around with that and give our last names as Smunt when we were younger

I left off Dutch Boyd, because he technically wasn't cheating at PokerSpot.com, as well as anything like the Chinese collusion teams, or other anonymous people that worked in groups. The only other one I left off was the guy who was sending/downloading viruses to other players to super-use them, but once I get these done I'll keep expanding the list

Steve, do you consider the Brain Hastings / isildur thing list worthy?

I was wondering the same thing. It is just because of the overwhelming amount of money lost?

Brian Townsend is #7 on Steve-O's list. Wasn't he, among others, involved in the Brian Hastings / isildur thing? (maybe I'm getting my facts mixed up... it has been awhile)

Yes, it will be brooched in the Brian Townsend article --Hastings and Cole South will be mentioned. Because of his FT suspensions, and the Isildur thing, Townsend will also the be the posterchild for the "new" multi-accounting.

While his offenses are at the bottom end of the spectrum when it comes to severity, Mizzi’s somewhat lengthy track record of offenses, and his indignant and flippant responses to these allegations have left his name sullied for many in the online poker community.

People shouldn't forgive this guy. He cheats, cheats, and cheats again, and people keep thinking he's going to change.

I understand forgiving a guy like Justin Bonomo a lot more than this scumbag,
