But I consider myself to spend avg time on the internet, and even bovada too and didn't know twitch existed. So I would just imagine the avg person doesn't know twitch exists.

Yea you need to simmer it down, Twitch has about 0,00001% name recognition compared to the ones you mention, I will be shocked if 5% of people between 15 and 35 have heard of twitch

As far as this type of streaming goes Twitch had justin.tv too which they shut down merging the database and they were a big free streaming service for a while.

This discussion adds evidence to my feeling there has never been a bigger divide between kids under 30 and those older since the "generation gap" in the 60's.

It's the same company. Twitch was originally just an extension of justin.tv, to keep gaming as a separate category. I guess eventually it grew so much larger that they consolidated everything under Twitch.
