mexican gangs are making serious inroads into credit card/check/bank fraud right now.
i just had a client get phished, password sniffed while ordering checks online, and 2 months later she's getting phone calls from people who are trying to cash checks from her business account that were sent to them for like, ebay proxying. all the actors were mexican, all the locations were areas with heavy established mexican crime family presence / narco corridors.
