    Amaya Offices Raided

Don't know if this is a moonlanding

Canadian Police And Provincial Securities Regulators Raid Amaya And Two Financial Firms
    Nathan Vardi
    Wall Street 12/11/2014 @ 7:13PM 477 views

"Federal Canadian police officers and provincial financial markets regulators on Wednesday raided the headquarters of Amaya, the Montreal-based owner of PokerStars, and two financial firms, as part of an investigation.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police and Autorité des Marchés Financiers, which regulates Quebec’s financial markets, showed up at the Montreal area offices of Amaya, Canadian investment bank Canaccord Genuity, and Manulife Financial, a Canadian insurance firm. “Yesterday’s operation is part of a AMF investigation on that company. I can’t go further for the moment,” said Sylvain Théberge, a spokeman for Autorité des Marchés Financiers."

@Kevmath @Sarcastaments @nathanvardi seems more stock related, perhaps checking for insider trading. AMF regulates financial sector

I have written over and over how I never invest in stocks. Only day trade.

But I hold two stocks these days. Amaya & Taser.

This thing is gonna go from $35 to $17. Be interesting IF this thing is suspended from trading tomorrow.

I am thinking of picking up some Enron.

Word I am hearing, this raid has more to do with dwarf tossing in the Amaya offices after the WPN & Merge crashes.

Dwarf tossing ain't legal in Canada?

    Sorry to kill Christmas.

The first or second time I ever bought options(Calls) something like this happened. Out of 1000s of stocks it happened to me. I went out and asked the DPM what was going to happen with the stock. He said it was prob going to open about $16 dollars down -- if it opened at all. WTF. I was in a panic. I didn't even have know a stock could not open. I was total rube. Lost all my money of course.

Tyde may not have those Canadians to bash anymore. Someone else will fill the void.

    Kiss California good bye PokerStars

Edit: Bukowski was ahead of me.

Good news is if AYA isn't halted tomorrow morning you will be able to daytrade the ever lovin shit out of this.

Two great sides here. The folks who want to get the fuck out & bag their profits vs the folks who still love the Amaya story. The December numbers should have tremendous growth.

    It'll swing like a mofo.

Someone ping Druff away from NBA & let him know there is a poker story.

To the Corporation's knowledge, this does not involve any allegations of wrongdoing by the Corporation. Amaya will continue to cooperate, if and as requested, consistent with our practice to always cooperate with regulatory authorities.
The Corporation will continue to monitor the investigation if and as it proceeds. The investigation has had no impact on Amaya's business operations, employees or companies.

Unfortunately, for you & me wether Amaya is innocent, guilty or a little of both doesn't matter too much near term. This is gonna hurt.

Stock prices and trading is an emotional thing to a large extent. That fear & greed crowd psychology thing.

You almost don't need a reason. You just have to yell fire.

(Chaps got banned from stock forums for being that guy yelling "fire".)

Some folks will sell. That's a given. You bought at $37 and it was $35 yesterday. No worries.

But tomorrow it loses $2 then $3 and the feeling is bad. Where will it stop? So you get worried and limit your loss & sell. Which pushes prices down more.

The next guy who bought at $34 starts getting nervous (he doesn't want to lose money) - he sells. Price goes down more.

The word for this is capitulation. Stocks with big gains & momentum (Amaya) are especially prone to this. People were buying cause it was running. They are weak hands and quit easily.

The trick is to catch some of the ride down (short) & cover. Wait for the momentum down to slow & show signs of reversing and ride it up a bit. Retracement.

This will occur in several waves tomorrow. So maybe you scalp some cash.

But bottom line the price will be considerable lower. Regardless of guilt or innocence

    What is an accountant?
Someone who solves a problem you didn't know you had in a way you don't understand at a price you can't afford.

Very correct. I wasn't posting that quote to say the shares wouldn't fall...just more as an update

Range today 25->31.50. I wussed out and sold @ 30.xx when it spiked.

Will rebuy at some point but am too scared at the moment.
