seeing how he spent $350 million on this one it makes me wonder if i'm hearing things correctly.

Yeah. That's my understanding. I certainly don't know all the details though.

    EDIT:

Sorry, posted that response from my phone.

Yes, you're correct. The Cleveland Horsehoe Casino that just opened is considered phase one of the overall project. Dan Gilbert purchased land in the city for 85 million where he is going to build phase 2. Basically a huge state of the art casino. This is supposed to be completed by late 2013 or early 2014.

I know Rock Gaming has a 5 year lease with Forest City for the space in the Higbee building. So both casinos will operate simultaneously for at least a few years. After the lease is up they will either close the original casino or renew the lease and continue to operate both.

They ran a promotion on their facebook page yesterday for $19.00 rooms at the Ritz Carlton for last night so I took advantage and booked. Those rooms normally go for around $300. The Ritz is a good place to stay if you want to go to the casino because they are both connected to Tower City mall and you don't have to go outside at all to get to the casino if you don't want to.

I got there around 10PM, played until about 4AM, slept three hours and then got up and went to work. The casino is really nice. I was impressed with the decor and the layout. The poker room is great. Nice layout and TVs everywhere. Very happy with how it came out.

The major gripe is with the dealers. All of them were very friendly but they are flat out horrible. They made a decision to hire 95% of the staff from Ohio, which essentially means that all of the dealers have never dealt a live hand before. They were very nervous and it showed. Lots of mistakes which really slowed down the games. This was true for poker as well as the table games I played.

Room has definitely been booming since it opened from what I hear and from checking bravopokerlive.com.

Obv like any new casino in an area that has never had one this shit is to be expected.

LOL @ thinking people want to move from out of state to deal poker in a shit hole like Cleveland.
