I always liked "Creep". Discovered Tool watching "Beavis and Butthead". Thought they were cool and bought the first Tool CD I could find. Didn't catch it when I listened to the song but found out they were sued by the Hollies for plagiarizing "The Air That I Breathe". They may not have meant to, but the songs are too close. Still like Tool.
in before China chimes in as the ultimate Phish fan
Yawn, too easy.
Your serve Ace.
Some good choices and not saying this is better by any means but will throw it in here anyways:
Les ...
I don't know anyone who is a bigger Phish fan than China
Give yourself 30 minutes, kick back in a chair with some headphones and enjoy
Pure improvisational bliss
this is an audience version with the light show, but the sound is from mics in the crowd. Very enjoyable as well
Covering Led Zeppelin
Not the best but this version still gives me goosebumps when I listen. This is a phenomenal version from Chicago
I will give you that CREEP is a good song. I will never understand however, Radiohead's impact on music. I just dont get it. I tried, and Im open to a lot of styles of music. They escape me.
For Good Measure, here is one of their best jams in years. Might be considered their all time best.
I would consider Chris Robinson as one of the top male vocalists in history.
Guy can put every emotion into his songs. Powerful voice.
with Phish, you have to appreciate what it takes to be completely organic in your jams. They dont play OVER each other...they feel where each other is going and individually decide who will take lead just by waiting patiently, hearing a groove, joining in and seeing where it will go. They have played together for over 30 years, so they feel where the music should be taking them, and they all play a part.
Grateful Dead used to be like this. Now, as Furthur, they tend to Noodle over each other and drown each other out. You have to find the groove, and sit down in it, and know your roll.
That version of Light is a perfect example. It builds and builds until they finally explode and the crowd loses their mind, as they know they just witnessed perfection.
I'm gonna go with hartford tweezer last fall. That shit rips, and I was there. I've seen some bad, good and great phish shows, but as a blanket statement that might be 15 years too late, if you haven't seen phish and know nothing about the music, go to a fall show in an arena and see them. Indoor phish>outdoor phish as a rule always
IRT both the Op and Crowe...
just sayin
I wanna play any 2!
brings me back to child hood with these two. Not the best two, but I think respectable
