Say Goodbye to the Trump Taj Mahal Hotel Casino in Atlantic City

Trump Taj Mahal Casino in Atlantic City will shutter
The struggling resort’s owner filed court papers Friday saying it will close next month. It will be the fifth of Atlantic City’s 12 casinos to close this year.

The Trump Taj Mahal will close by December 12th.

Making it the 5th Atlantic City casino to close this year.

I guess the 7 casinos left will close next year.

Actually Revel is expected to reopen around early spring. Although might not be "Revel" anymore I guess.

My only fond memory involving the taj involves a very drunk hit n run at the 20 40 stud game, raised every hand and bet without looking at down cards unless it got to 5th or 6th, racked up after 6 hands and 0 showdowns with a $320 profit. nobody said a single word the whole time.

If you look at the revenue reports over the past two months you'll see that total industry revenue is slightly down, but nearly every remaining casino (sans Taj) is posting double digit revenue increases.

Industry in AC is finally right-sizing. AC will feel the pinch in the short-term but this had to happen for long-term viability
