    2015 MLB Free Agents

    2015 MLB Free Agents.

lol @ pablo sandoval wanting 17-20mil for 6 years.

this fat toad is slower than shit and his numbers are already on the decline. + he's an injury risk waiting to happen

    3 yr avg +/- is 15hr 70rbi and 280avg

really sad and stupid that these kinds of numbers get you a 17mil multi year deal.

Talk in Boston is that the Red Sox are really serious.

    I hope not.

Although he is surprisingly athletic for his size right now, fat athletes never age well.

He will fall off the cliff.

You are correct. Much of his weight comes from his 3 rings.

Post season will not be a concern for the Red Sox for several years.

Dont want Sandoval. Averages like 14 hr 70 rbi over last 3 seasons, obp has gone down 4 straight and took a huge hit this year. 2 out of the past 5 seasons he has missed 50 games.

They discussed on local radio here about the Tigers maybe going after Pablo and the first thing that came to mind is "Great, slow pokes on first AND third".

Cuddyer going to the Mets so early was a bit of a surprise. Thought he would stay in CO. Curious to see which of the first of the big 3 pitchers sign first.....I'm gonna guess they'll all try to hold out hoping another one signs first.

if he's healthy he could provide a big boost to the mets. although when the mets sign hitters they usually get worse, but maybe he'll be different. can't imagine the mets being worse w/ him. at the very least he should put up sandoval's numbers, with the possibility of more.

as everyone saw, you don't need a stocked lineup get into and win the world series.

    mets 40-1 to win WS

    mets 18-1 to win pennant

    anybody have any higher odds?

    Max Scherzer

hard to imagine him staying at his current level for that much longer. i guess you might be able to get 3 more years of ace like production. but after that he could put up 4/5 starter numbers w/ an ERA in the 4's

    he turned down $144 over 6 years...wow.....what does he want 7/8 ..$180....lol

all GM's get what they deserve. they sign them to long contracts and get screwed on the back half something awful...funny part is it seems that quite a few are available for trade a year into the deal, and the same jackass teams/gm's that wanted to sign them before, don't want them a year/two later...lol...their reason ""contract too large" equating w/ performance

Cubs will get Lester and Russell Martin.

Also might get Hamels, if they are willing to trade one of their top prospects for him (preferably Addison Russell and a pitcher).

That would probably drop their odds in Vegas to be a top five WS pick.

Of course they are the Cubs and will fuck it up somehow.

You need more than 2 pitchers and a better than avg catcher to be a ws fave.

If th Astros got those players they'd be better than the cubs would.

Cubs had three of the top ten prospects in baseball last year.

Now they have two of the top five and the third is in the majors. Plus they had another top 20 prospect make it to the majors last year.

This doesn't even include Soler who hit +.290 and 5 homers in 20 some games.

Oh and all five of these prospects? Well the oldest is 23.

Epstein is doing exactly what he did in Boston. Cubs in the last couple years have acquired twice as many elite prospects as the next closest team.

If 2 of the 5 are successful next year, they are above .500.

If 3 or 4 of them hit next year, they are really dangerous.

Cubs are the trendy pick for next year and they are the 8th favorite to win the WS on Bovada, not including any big FA signings.

Teams usually arrive a year ahead of schedule and that could be the Cubs next year.

But like I said, they will find a way to fuck it up.

Rosenthal says its down to SF and Boston for Pablo, he is headed to Boston to get whined and dined next week per local radio.

Everything you guys have said about Pablo, the Giants have been saying.
They made him lose weight, but he sucked that year.
The boy likes to eat, drink + party, and that is not stopping anytime soon.

His regular season stats are so so, but he can field surprisingly well for his size.
He won't hurt your regular season, and like Weiss said, he just keeps showing up for the playoffs.
I'm pretty sure he has the longest hitting streak in post season history, (where do you look that up?)
He had that Babe Ruth Game vs Ver Lander
and his average in elimination games is close to 500, he thrives on those games
this gif was taken when he was in the hole, before his first at bat, in Game 7 of the WS.

Obv if the Red Sox don't work something out, he is more than welcome back here.

While there is a little something to say for having "it" (which Sandoval does have), there is just as likely a chance he goes 2/20 the next time that he's in the playoffs. Sample size.

I hope you are right about Cubs landing Lester.

I made a bet during the Red Sox yard sale that Lester would not be resigned by Red Sox. Red Sox die hard took other side.

Red Sox President, Larry Lucchino is a stubborn fuck and is not likely to admit he was wrong.

Sandoval has value, but he's not worth huge money.

As abrown said, the sample size is too small to give him big money just for his postseason hitting.

Dodgers probably aren't going after Hanley Ramirez, which is good. He isn't the same guy as he was in 2013, and he's full of injury issues. It seems like the Cards breaking his ribs in the 2013 NLCS screwed him up. He hasn't been the same hitter since then, even though physically ribs heal fully.

Regardless, he will get a big deal somewhere, maybe in the AL where he doesn't have to play defense.

Bloomberg reporting Giancarlo Stanton finally signed.

$325 13yr with player opt out option.

So sick. No athlete should be paid more than Giselle Brady.

Is that a done deal? Shocked Jeffrey Loria would pay the highest contract ever offered. I heard he can sell in 2 years without penalty. Would having Stanton locked down help or hurt selling? Just seems so completely out of character.

Id think help, contracts keeping going up, this is 25 mill per, kershaw is getting above 30 I think as is. They can try and win next few years and move him around his prime if they can't afford him. Some team will give their whole farm system. 5 years from now who knows what top guys will be getting but it will be more than 25 mill per
