I understand last year. Newhouse was a smaller stack and all but for fucks sake he was in 3rd!!!! Was it nerves or somethingelse I mean jesus Fing Christ the ultimate SNG and only 9th doesnt cash and hes got a nice stack and DONKS!!! Im sorry but theres a giant choking sound coming from the Penn and Teller Theater right now.. Mark's a hell of a player but I think the months off this time was a huge negative for him. If they hadnt had the break he likely wouldve finished higher and maybe taken it down..
i thought they stopped at 3 handed?
are they gonna finish this thing today?
His play probably wudda worked if he had a bit more in his stack to bluff him off rep'in AJ. Check turn seems better given stacks.
Wait, last place doesn't get paid?

A straight jam there with a Jack is horrible. How much was in the pot pre shove? Can he check back there, expecting to only be called by better if he makes a move? What does he put the other guy on? 99 or less? really? 3 betting 99 or less from the blinds (might be wrong about pos)?
Mark Newhouse Eliminated in 9th Place ($730,725)
Why are people saying he goes home with nothing?

Lots of Monday morning QB'ing going on here.
Based on how the hand played out + Newhouse's description, the bottom line is he was thinking many poker levels beyond his opponent. His opponent likely wouldn't have folded for any amount at any point in time during the hand.
Tough break, but well done to make it to b2b final tables. Go for a 3 peat in 2015.
My only 2 cents of hindsight is that if I was Newhouse I would have folded every single hand except AA until 9th lost out. That seems like a ridiculously stupid thing to do, but the psychological advantage of bumping up to 8th at least would be worth it IMO. Also just having that extra +200k locked up could really help you psychologically do go on a deep run. You were not going to fully run over that table with high level poker outside the box. I think if Newhouse got into the shorthanded 5-6 handed stage, he would have taken it down.
I'm sort of pissed I didn't fire some bucks on Jacobson but I felt he was too short to make any noise even though he is the best player in the November Nine imo.
Makes back to back final tables in the WSOP main event: he's a piece of shit poker player.
Yeah...ok.
The one thing I hope is that Newhouse has held onto the money he was already paid.
He doesn't have the best history with money management, and I am a bit concerned that he expected to at least finish 5th or something and didn't act as frugal with his money as he should have.
I also think this will probably mean Newhouse will return to the Commerce 100-200 game, whereas before he had said he was going to be done with it.
