What about using $500 for a workers party poker freeroll an the remaining $500 to fire on a two or three team parlay where people can chime in on the games to play then Drexel has the final decision what is played?
If it wins the winning portion goes for another workers party poker free roll and the $500 for another parlay the following week which if that wins then rinse and repeat until a parlay loses?
It's the degen way of doing both but as for the Poker tournament I'd say a double or deeper stacked (based on current radio freerolls) NL mtt and the money paying out however decided.

My suggestion.
Make a list of people that are in the workers party.
Keep betting nfl football. Maybe $100 per game.
Bet on all the prime time games by letting the workers party vote on which side to bet on.
Continue this through the super bowl then do your poker tourney with whatever the balance is or divide all proceeds equally between workers party.
This way all workers party gets to sweat the rest of the nfl season.
