BTW Stricker, the overwhelming favorite for the Seniors this week withdrew. Not surprising as he’s got the Schwab cup wrapped up and is a Vice Captain in Rome next week. Cink is still playing. Most books have adjusted the odds but it’s worth a check if you can find one that didn’t. Alker +800 is a good price. He’s slammed to 550 on Fanduel.

Here's a late season game with major wildcard implications, as the Giants and D-backs go at it.

The Giants are sitting 2 games out of the final wildcard spot, while the D-backs are just 0.5 ahead for that same spot. The two teams are separated by 2.5 games overall, with 3 other clubs (Reds, Marlins, Cubs) in between.

Zac Gallen might have a dead arm. While he pitched very well against the Cubs two starts ago, he has given up 5-6 ER in 3 of his 4 last starts, and also has suddenly started having issues missing bats. He's just not the same pitcher he was during the first half.

Nate Eovaldi was pitching well... and then he had forearm issues in July. He was held out until early this month, and since then he's made 3 short starts, where he didn't look particularly good, except the middle one against lousy Oakland.

It appears he will be given a little more time to pitch today, and I could easily see him getting clobbered. I just don't think he's healthy.

Well the Phillies are getting destroyed by the Braves. 7-0 in the 5th. I was right about the Phillies not scoring today but the Braves can just pile on runs because that lineup is so deep. Ugh. 2 more runs and it's over.
