Why do you defy me, Simp? Add to the list Gregorius & Chapman. Their shit is completely up in the air and they are your classic 3 outcome offense. They are a poster child for variance.

You had a push today. Any more nonsense and you’ll have heard the last from me.

Speaking of which, thanks a lot for Rockies Padres support. I just felt it was time for some shot taking. That feeling was probably set up by a couple of days with a Verminaard size slate that ended up as washes.

I went large on Rockies. I was so nervous I feared posting it and having Druff tail. It ran pretty smooth.

    MOBILE - BASEBALL - MLB - 960 COLORADO ROCKIES -1½ -138 FOR GAME

Little tidbit to file away for a prop or live bet:
The Rockies pitchers have about a 7.6 ERA in the 1st inning. They always give up the first run.

It’s now almost of historic proportions. They are considering starting a reliever like the Marlins. They have had their starters pitch a simulated 1st inning in the pen before the game. They have no answer but it’s such a large sample they feel they have to address it.

Kinda fascinating and tempting. I had enough exposure. If I missed that prop and lost I KNOW I woulda tilted my whole roll on live wagering or Red Dog in the casino. I was on the ragged edge with a case of nerves.

    See ya tomorrow

    8/23/2018 12:51:11 AM
    DESCRIPTION:
ST. LOUIS CARDINALS AT LOS ANGELES DODGERS [BATTER PROPS] MONEYLINE CARDINALS -105

I’m a little late to the Cards party but I need to shop a future

That Hicks kid is not human. 102 slider. How is that possible?

He has thrown 430+ pitches over 100
The next highest guy is Chapman at about 175

San I will keep away from the Yankees.

David Price is a bit like Kershaw. Epic regular season games but doesn't show up in the playoffs.

Indians +190 or better in the early game. I don't love betting against Price in the regular season but EVERYONE and their mothers are on Boston.

Bumgarner +144 at the Mets. Degrom has been on fire tough betting against him but Bum will be fired up today.

Just asking for 1 win here not even both. May have picks later.

    Don’t think, pitch.

David Price can't relate to Boston Red Sox ace Chris Sale never shaking off catcher, explains what reinventing himself means
    https://www.google.com/amp/s/article...sox_lef_24.amp

What in the fuck possesses people to allow Price to use his brain?

You really have to be a robot to succeed at pitching. Your only thought needs to be executing the next pitch. You’re going to get beat. Cheap base hit. Bad call from umpire. Homerun. Doesn’t matter, you still have to throw another pitch. Why not make it a good one? Dwelling and thinking won’t help the next throw.

The dumber the pitcher the better.

Price isn’t a stupid man. He’s an entitled whack job who had a pretty easy path to the big leagues. He is kind of out there as a personality. He never learned to handle getting beat. Hi IQ and low EQ.

Red Sox have a cushion of needless wins. There is ZERO pressure. The normally vicious Boston press have retired from Sawks til playoffs. The press is focused on Patriots. This is where Price & the old Kershaw excel. You ever watch Kershaw’s reaction after a homerun? He gets uncorked.

So the ingredients for Price failure are’nt present today. I don’t think his being an emotional retard will be his problem today. Hopefully he still loses for other reasons.

I was watching Yadier Molina last night. He is diminished physically from his previous stellar ability. He’s still as good as most physically. What I saw was a tremendous coach or quarterback.

I was watching Molina manage the kid closer Hicks. Like all flamethrowers, Hicks walks a tightrope - and he’s young. Hicks never shook off Molina. Never had to think about it. Molina walks out to the mound and puts his arm around the kid and tells him how it’s gonna be. I’d be physically afraid later if I ignored his words.

    Molina is god. Playoff manager.

I like the plus odds you took on Indians. The Sawks middle relief are your friends. They suck.

Bum pitched well to get me a win. I only asked for 1 and got it.

You don't always have to be dumb. You do have to be able to control your emotions.

Zack Greinke was always an interesting case to me. He admits to having social anxiety, and in fact left baseball for a year because of it.

After some therapy, he returned, and was successful.

Something I noticed about him during his time with the Dodgers was that he never got rattled. I would watch him get tortured in the first inning -- a bloop single here, an error there, a bad call by the umpire following that, and suddenly he's down 2-0 with men in scoring position.

He would then proceed to pitch out of it, and then throw up zeroes for six more innings.

He did have the tendency to give up home runs late in the game when he got tired. Mattingly didn't pull him fast enough when that started to happen. I could always pinpoint exactly when Greinke lost his stuff, and it was when players would start taking him deep (even if the ball wouldn't fall as a HR). But the guy was unflappable. Nothing would seem to bother him.

He was also a machine who would painstakingly study video on every hitter he was going to face.

He also has excellent natural athletic ability, making him both a defensive force and a better hitter than most pitchers.

Watching his interviews, I always felt he might have Asperger's, and perhaps that actually helps him to stay so coldly focus upon games.

He appeared to have some difficulty adjusting to Arizona's ballpark, and had a bad 2016, but he's been fairly good since then, especially considering he's two months away from 35. Soon enough, his body is going to take away the athletic ability which allowed him to succeed in the first place, but I always found his psychological makeup to be unique, and perhaps very suitable for being an MLB pitcher.

    Soooo....

    How about an over?

Overs are by no means my specialty, but here it is:

St. Louis (Mikolas) at Colorado (Senzatela) - Over 10.5 -115

    Salmar,

Should I fade Kershaw +315? I don’t know jack about padres or their pitcher but seems high for a 6-5 pitcher on a team in a tailspin.

Anyone have any CFB team win O/U's they love.

I know Daly was talking about BC O5.5 or O6 a few weeks ago. I looked and my book has them at O6.5 -200 so obviously a lot of people agreed with him. This is probably a little too steep for me, so I'll pass. Anyone have any others?

You asked directly so I’m not gonna lie.

PM’d Druff this AM the following:

    Dodgers
Hopefully karma ain’t a real thing

I max bet Kershaw. One more shot then back to regular units til playoffs. ML is -400. I suspect it will still climb.

Padres rookie has been awful. Padres offense almost dead last in production.

    MOBILE - BASEBALL - MLB - 912 LOS ANGELES DODGERS -1½ -183 FOR GAME

    Curious your thoughts.

I have a reputation to protect. Don’t out me.
Padres send out Brett Kennedy 8.36 ERA 2.14 WHIP
The numbers are always a little more complicated than they appear.

He just turned 24. He was a much sought after 11th round draft pick. He’s a grizzled veteran with 14 innings on his arm.

Kershaw and his 1.00 WHIP. Dodgers are in a must win spot against the Padres garbage. They have some tough ones coming up.

If I lose I can live with the bet. I couldn’t live with the shame.

Be forewarned, they are the Dodgers. It is Kershaw. Kenley Jansen is their closer.

When I apply for government assistance I will simply put “Kershaw” on the application. They’ll understand.

I see it at -400. Bull pen risk kills it for me. I was tempt d but maybe live bet if they get a nice lead early. Padres are so bad that even bull pen melt down is safer. So GL.

I got a team in a must win vs a team that packed it in. I got a pitcher entering an option year vs an 11th rounder who is just getting a taste before getting sent down after having learned he ain’t ready for prime time.

I got Dave Roberts trying to save his job

Dodgers suck in the context of playoff contenders. Machado is an offensive bust. Relief is a gas can. Puig is finished as a Dodger. Nevertheless, they should easily beat the Padres tonight.

I am willing to wager Kershaw goes deep. Win/Loss isn’t that important but his record is embarrassing. He knows the bullpen will render his outing another wasted day. You’ll have to pry the ball out of his hands.
