i dont think this is gonna be anything mind blowing, but if you get any reasonable price against tiger in a 2-ball take it...he played like shit at memorial and had to charge on the last few holes in round 2 to make the cut...i dont even know how much prep work he has been getting in for this one...
was gonna be looking to take my usual shot on X at 30/1 or better, but seeing him at 18-20/1, which i guess isn't terrible, but im gonna pass at that price...
was also gonna look to sprinkle a little on hovland, but seeing 35-40/1...ill defer to daly on this, but it just feels expensive...i could get behind probably something in the neighborhood of 60/1 or better...if im not mistaken this is his first major as a pro so to pay a premium on him even though he's got a shitton of game doesn't feel right...

putting a caveat on this post that i really dont know how to "read" golf stats...ie which ones are most important for the course at hand...should we be looking at raw stats or focus solely on the SG stats?
here was one that popped into my head when i was making my initial post about the PGA, but didnt want to bring it out until i had a chance to mull it over and look at the stats...
here are jordan spieth's SG stats this year...they're not so good...what saved jordan in the past was his short game...now that looks like it's not so much of a thing...looking at his raw numbers (his putting average/overall putting average), he's still one of the best out there...but for some reason it's not translating into the SG part of the equation, where he is very mediocre...
ive read that you are gonna need to drive the ball well at harding park to score well and he's actually losing strokes off the tee...that just can't be good...especially in a major...so he's putting himself in a hole right off the bat and then the rest of his game isn't really making up for him being so shit off the tee...
im going to look to bet against him at a reasonable price/matchup in any 2 balls i can find...

Best golf guy I know says we can expect a repeat of this past weekend - JT and Koepka fighting it out.
Thinks it will be a top heavy tournament with someone in the top 10 currently winning it.
He did add that X man has a good chance at the price with a few “x factors” going his way such as local familiarity of the course. Fleetwoods Irons Makes him an interesting investment at 40-50 to one but he made no bones it’s a price play.
