I liked the show, so I'm not agreeing there, but Sontine does have a point.

Was it ever definitively confirmed that Jimmy got killed off because in real life, Michael Pitt was horrible?

If not, just deciding to have Nucky kill him so that he fully evolved as a gangster is one of the worst decisions in recent TV history. Having the Nucky/Jimmy relationship ebb and flow some more could have really been interesting instead of trying to outdo Ralph Cifaretto/Tommy DeVito/gratutious gangster of choice with Gyp.

It always tilts me when guys like Terence Winter and Alex Gansa give what seem to be well thought out articulate answers to why a plot went a certain way. You can always see what they were thinking (well, not so much for some Homeland decisions) but the lack of common sense is grating.
