High speed car wreck in the D.R. Apparently his girlfriend was in the car and died also. Incredible talent lost way too young.

He was an irritant to the Dodgers in the NLDS, but still very sad.

Real shame. Kid had a real shot at being a star.
Darryl Kile
Josh Hancock
Oscar Taveras
All Cardinals that died while on the team.
Is there a Cardinal curse?
Save a Cow - Eat a Vegetarian, they're grass-fed.
You could argue that the Angels, Indians, yankees, and/or pirates (for Clemente alone) have more cursed histories with accidents.
Kile was an undiagnosed heart condition, and Hancock was a raging alky driving drunk.
Funny story about Hancock though, shortly after his death, I was at a AAA game that Memphis (stl's team) was playing in with friends of mine who were friends from high school with a pitcher on the team who recently had been demoted after a cup of coffee in the big leagues. We were hanging out after the game with him and I asked him what he thought about that Hancock thing. Dude was like "no one was surprised, dude was a trainwreck, I don't know how he pitched half the time".
