Chukchansi Gold casino near Yosemite stormed by 20 armed men in Indian faction dispute

Basically there are 2 rival factios of the Chukchansi tribe that have been fighting over control of the casino. The "losing' faction, ousted since August, decided to show back up with guns and storm the place over the weekend.

The casino is now closed until further notice.

It's located in Coarsegold, which is just south of Yosemite National Park. The casino is pretty much the only happening thing in Coarsegold. I stayed there about 10 years ago and was not impressed.

Hearing in Federal Court resulted in Casino to remain closed for 2 more weeks minimum. 50 employees of the casino apparently will be allowed to work and get paid (guessing essential staff) while over 1000 others are left hanging and its apparently causing some serious heartburn and consternation in the area due to the large monies the casino provides.

This occurred at Harrah's Laughlin in 2002. Laughlin is a riverfront community right next to Arizona, about 90 miles south of Vegas. It typically attracts more of a blue collar crowd than Vegas does.

According to the Wikipedia article about the matter, the Hells Angels showed up there to confront the Mongols, because they heard the Mongols had been harassing vendors selling Hells Angels related merchandise.

That's funny - I go to Chukchansi at least 2-3 times a year because my parents own a house in the area. It's actually a nice casino except for the fucking blue hairs and scooter people smoking cigs.
