It's a spinoff of This American Life that's taking a look at the 1999 murder of high school student Hae Min Lee.
The case has long been solved but it's still an incredibly engaging listen.

"You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."
Someone told me Ira Glass was on Fallon. I was a bit surprised. Obviously, he was plugging the series.
I am a huge fan of Ira Glass. Master storyteller. His unique halting conversational delivery can't be duplicated either.

Being such a fan of Ira Glass makes me reticent to try this series where he is not involved. Just being associated with This American Life creates a comparison which is doomed to disappoint. I will be interested in a review.
Why is Glass so unique and why does it work so well? I am not a writer and admire anyone who has that gift. I think about the tuition money wasted taking Creative Writing English classes. I woulda learned more just viewing the clips below.
If you find yourself asking why This American Life works so well - what is the magic formula? This is an interesting insight into his creative process. Prolly good stuff for anyone who writes.
You will listen to other storytellers and measure their skill in a new light.
Glass is involved. He's billed as an "Editorial Advisor".

Listened to the TAL for a while and listened to the first instalment of this last thursday and loved it, will probably listen to the second one tomorrow and probably won't be disappointed.
