I joined a class action against the music companies who conspired to inflate the price of CDs. If their allegation that CDs were $2-3 more expensive because of the conspiracy was correct, I overpaid by several thousand dollars for my physical music collection. A large part of the settlement was the companies all donated a shitload of CDs to public libraries, schools and etc., which of course was just a way for them to dump inventory that wasn't moving. Meanwhile I got a check for $11. I've been made whole!

I think I've told this story before but WTF, Druff rehashes stories all the time so:

I was unknowingly a part of a class action suit against Ticketmaster. We bought tickets to the Eagles as soon as they went on sale & before the purchase was finished we were redirected to their own Ticketmaster re-sale site for the same seats & the price went up. We bought them anyway & a few months later got a letter telling us that what Ticketmaster did was illegal(which it was IMO) & received a refund which brought the price back down to what it was originally.

I was told at the time by a friend that this strategy was common for really sought after events & actually legal in the USA but totally illegal in Canada. Not sure if it's still this way or if they found a "legal" work-around for it now here in Canada. In conclusion:
