Not his best, but the guy has really brought some amazing ideas to the screen. Naked Lunch was the best as far as what he could 'do' with the budget. Scanners and Videodrome really brought the 'big think' to an otherwise clunky genre. The Fly was a much better approach than the 1950's original, I thought. I think that The Dead Zone is maybe the most quotable. The guy always seems to find something within the story that is not the baseline for the movie that really brings it home.

I should've said my favorite instead of his best. I own this as well as scanners and the fly (all three are special editions, the fly is a 2 disc with a lot of Rick baker behind the scenes stuff)

I do love me some scanners as well.

I like Video Drome bc it's a wild story complete with very very practical sfx which Rick Baker was known for.

cheers 4D. we share similar taste in weird movies I see

Watched this the other night on Movie Central. I thought I saw Dan Bilzerian in it as one of the henchmen that get killed near the end & looked it up & sure enough he was.

Mel Gibson Calls ‘Batman v Superman’ a ‘Piece of Shit’
    http://variety.com/2016/film/news/me...an-1201853090/

“It’s a piece of shit,” the 60-year-old director told Deadline at the Venice Film Festival. “I’m not interested in the stuff. Do you know what the difference between real superheroes and comic-book superheroes is? Real superheroes didn’t wear spandex. So I don’t know. Spandex must cost a lot.”

I agree that "Batman v Superman" was the worst comic book movie ever, plus Ben Affleck sucks.

Watched three films in the past 24 hours, all American with elements of dark humor. I prefer stuff from the 90's and early 2000's that focuses more on storyline/dialogue than special effects and these fitted the bill.

    First was Interstate 60:

Size: 300.8 KB

This was a fun watch, bit quirky and supernatural but intelligently written as it relates to string theory and how every decision branches off with infinitie possibilities.

    Second was Thursday:

Really enjoyed this as it had that cult classic feel to it, and just the right mix of twisted violence along with a cool and funny plotline. The most entertaining of the three.

Lastly was In the Company of Men:

This was an uncomfortable watch at times as the main character sadistically plots to hurt those around him; very minimilist dialogue focused film, but was funny at times still and quite a chilling and realistic portrayal of the cruel 'every man for themselves' nature withing the corporate world.

it surpassed 200 a long time ago. probably closer to 3 now

i get netflix and all,but i like to have the DVD's bc they have commentary and deleted scenes.

im also missing a lot of classics bc I won't just go on Amazon and purchase them. I like to go to record stores and dvd stores and find them.

of note something that isn't in my collection and will never be: Star Wars movies
