Audio/Video Capture Software Question

Looking for a program that will record what plays on my laptop screen with audio, anyone have experience with software that does that?

Basically, I'm looking to record something that I'm renting instead of paying more to own it, if that makes sense.

Fraps is good, quick and easy if you don't want to go through the bs of camtasia.

TBH it sounds like he needs a DVD or video ripper, but a screen cap program will work, just has to be in real time instead of a quicker rip.

anyone who uses camtasia know how to record the audio from another person when saving it as a avi? i find that i hear myself really good but if im skyping with someone and recording they are so low you cant make them out. i can record them find if i record using .camrec but if i switch to avi files they get lost. any thoughts?

I use a program called Snapz Pro X. Seems to work great and also allows you to edit the quality of the video and frame rate.
