Found this in 2 plus 2 would make a great prank call imo. I am really dumbfounded floor would rule in favor of the angle shooter who commited this act if ops version is true.

Just keep your mouth shut at the table and shit like this doesn't happen.
"You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."
Also worth noting that the poster was admittedly "kinda drunk". Drunk at 3am leads to great memory recall.
"You run into an asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole; you run into assholes all day, you're the asshole."
The first part about "I might call $80" is vaguely plausible but not really, the dealer may have heard "I call $80" or something and the discussion continues with binding/non binding verbal action.
The second part about claiming he had J6 and bet it on J high flop and 2 guys flip their hands and leave (including AJ) seems extremely unlikely.
When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself "What would Micon do?", then do the opposite.

Only way to get a clear answer on this is to have Finklestein call them on Tuesday night.
Like most small rooms on the strip, Mandalay Bay has a small group of regular locals that try to grind it out and fleece the tourists. The management knows they would be fired if said small group stopped showing up as it would cut their business by a significant percentage. So management sucks their dicks at every chance they get. Angle shooter is obv a reg.
What a shitty angle shot buy a scum bag reg, cocksuckers like this ruin the game
I have always thought the dealer is to enforce no discussing the hand while it is in play?
Regardless I will never stay or play at the Mandalay Bay ever since it sounds like they are in collusion with the reg's.
Fuck them
all hail Hydra

Wow the levels you could go to against someone who also knows the rule. If I say how much will u call and u say $80 andf then I bet $90 I would put you into a leveling mind fuck.
I would hope if hes forced to call $80 then the bettor who asks the question is forced to bet $80, but thinking about that that couldnt happen either. What if u ask then he says all in for 1k in a $10 pot and now your forced to bet 1k.
I guess i just hope no place has such a fucked up rule that regs can take advantage of tourists.

People in 2 plus 2 thread are saying that Mandalay just runs a non standardized poker rules room but players are appraised of the rules. Based on the above thread I think Mandalay makes it up as they go. I don't think Op in the 2 plus 2 thread will be the last tourist to get angle shot by regs with a complicit floor aiding the regs by a long shot.
It's one thing to just shut up when youre in a big hand to avoid giving away any info, but no need to just never speak during a hand.
Shit rules/rulings like this is are not normal or good for the game. There's no reason to not speak during hands out of fear that you will unintentionally force yourself to put money in the pot or something is ridiculous.
Called the room on radio and they were very evasive.
At 1:36:30 mark (or 96:30)...

Lol he couldn't discuss anything "the poker room mgr" I would love to know what Kay had to say regarding the matter. Sounds like they knew they made a decision that could get them in trouble legally and sidestepped it imo.
Generally don't post my own links but I put this up today: http://nevadapokerreviews.com/1170/o...r-room-beware/ As you can see, I found a few other snippets on the WorldWideWeb about Mandalay's odd rules as well, mainly from PokerGrump.
Also, this didn't make it into the article, but Grange95 from Twitter wrote this review at PokerAtlas: http://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-room...-lots-of-rules and this trip report which shows the staff's favoritism http://www.pokeratlas.com/forum/view...p?f=12&p=78091
I write things about poker at my Poker Blog and elsewhere on the Internets

I am not a hard-ass about that like Mason.
