The pup is sick. Did tests and meds to improve with fail results. Vet office is traumatic to pup. Wish there were better options for home euthanasia.

I wonder if a large dose of some pain killers would put it to sleep.
also often when a dog dies they shit themselves so prepair your self for this.

filet mignon that bitch up, you know it makes sense.
I faced this dilemma with a dying dog that refused to be moved. She would get very agitated and aggressive if you tried to pick her up. Ended up having the vet make a house call. It costs a little more, but is fairly common. Call yours up and see if they'll do it.
Losing a dog really sucks. Sorry bro.
All animals hate the vet but its the only way to go. When we put our dog down it cost $50 and we thought we could go back with her and be with her when its done, but they said they dont do that, so I handed her off and have regretted it ever since. I wonder if she was used for experiments or something or if she sat back there for hours just scared to death.
Find a place where you can be with the pet imo. I wouldnt do anything at home because if it goes bad you will feel alot worse and never forgive yourself.
We've put two down the past two years and both times the vet came to the house and did it. Very tough on us but it seemed like a very very peaceful way for the dog to go. They inject the dog with two drugs. The first one basically knocks the dog out completely. It takes upwards of a half hour to fully take effect. They squeeze the dogs toe and if it doesn't react then its time. When ours finally didn't react after about 25 minutes I lost it because I knew it was over for him. Once this happens, they inject the kill drug which stops its heart. This one takes effect almost immediately.
It was extremely painful for us to be in the room while this happened but I would do it again 100% of the time.
Sorry for you loss. I love dogs more than humans.
My hound is 10 and im rubbing her ears as I read this thread........ this shit makes me sad
As a small child, my first dog went to a farm to live out the rest of his days, lol, my second I held him as the
vet put him down. Difficult.
Pets have become family members like it or not. One of my Mom's jobs as a kid under ten was to
drown the excess kittens that were a burden to the farm. That was life then.
It has to be done, nothing lives forever and no one wants to see a creature suffer, so take the advice provided
in other posts and have it done at home. And sure, a nice filet would be the best kind of send off.
