Seediest hotel you have ever stayed at?

I was in south Florida, at the casino at the time "finding myself', 2009 I believe. There was a poker room there and I just got plastered, probably a .030. I was up about $800 and gave it all back plus some. It was like 4am and the parking lot was covered with cops and the hotel on site, sold out. A cab pulled out (it was not mine, so basically I ripped it off from someone that called ahead of time). He says a name, and I am like "yeah that is me".

We get on the highway and tell him change of plans, find me a hotel. LOL. So we go to a Holiday INN and its sold out. So he takes me to a Red Roof Inn. It's now about 5am and the room is fucking $64.99 a night. Not that $65 a night is a lot of money for a hotel, but this place was a fucking shithole.

I get to my room and its as expected, a huge divet in the bed. The fucking microwave in the room had a Hot Pocket casing in it. I only noticed it because the maid had left the microwave door open. So basically she opened the door, saw it and just left it. There was also a huge hair in the sink and in the closet there was a metal hanger. I give the metal hanger as a detail, because their rest of the hangers are the wooden hotel hangers, but some former patron left a metal hanger and the maid decided to leave it there, as if it was a benefit to future attendees.

There was a 24 diner next door and walked over there. I got a grilled cheese and walked back. Now the sun is coming up and all I remember is the 25 mph wind in my face.

I passed out for like 5 hours and my hotel phone begins to ring. "Check out 11am, you want another day?" I was like give me until 1pm. THIS FUCKING BITCH tells me I have 20 minutes to leave the room or my credit card would be charged another day. So I hopped in the shower and went down to the lobby and was ready to confront her face, until I saw just how disgusting she was. She was like 6 feet tall and packing 250 lbs. I just asked for my receipt and a cab back to my car.

I have had some bad experiences in my life. But the 5 hours in the Red Roof Inn was among the worst.

... the seediest place I ever stayed was the Runway Inn by the Miami Airport. I missed my connecting flight and just wanted somewhere cheap and close to stay overnight.

This was in 1998. While they seem to have a bogus or misleading pic of the lobby, looks like it hasn't changed much.

That interior pic looks like what i've seen of downtown Havana, so that seems plausible. And shoutout to THE CARTER.

What's funny is there are actually 3 hotels with even worse reviews in the area. How the fuck does that happen?

Years ago when I worked in Malibu, I got stuck there several times the year of the "el ninos" Mudslides would close the roads and I literally could not get home. Malibu is a gorgeous city and home to the rich and famous, but sucks in terms of hotel rooms. There are a few really nice boutique style hotels on the beach that 15 years ago were in the $300 / night+ rate or there are dives motels. Literally nothing in-between. The first time I got stuck, I went to one of the dive motels, I was charged like $45 for a room. It wasn't that bad....outdated furniture but it was clean. A week later I get stranded again. I go to same place and ask for a room. The clerk says it will be $75 dollars. I told him I paid $45 last week. He looked shocked and said, "Who charged you $45?" I said you did last week. He laughs and says ok $45 it is. I get a different room this time and on the wall is what looks like a cabinet door. I open it and to my surprise it was literally a fucking tunnel. It looked like it was some sort of service corridor. I had visions of being asleep and people coming out of this tunnel. So I go ask for another room. The second room appears ok. I go to bed and get woken up by a drip directly over the bed hitting me in the face. I got stuck one more time, went to same place and left after I pulled back the covers to the bed and I noticed several what looked like pubic hairs on the sheets.

I went to a place like this. My room was like 35 bucks a night. When i got to the room the first thing I noticed was a 13" tv/vcr siitting on a old 70's console tv. I wasn't bitching but still. Luckily they had a bar in this shit hole and i passed the fuck out upon returning to the room!

I had to slum it in a 3star La Quinta once. Pool was barely heated. Pretty brutal.

I took my daughter to New York in January - her chorister group had a rare opportunity to sing at Carnegie Hall. New York is very expensive, so we passed on staying in the upscale hotels where the other parents were, and opted for a Holiday Inn near Carnegie. I was amazed at how tiny the rooms were and how shabby. (Actually everything in New York is on the shabby, run-down side.) The bathroom door literally hit the edge of the toilet when you entered, and the piping was external. There was barely room to walk around the bed. That was $125 a night. I can only imagine what you'd get for less. Thank goodness there was no mold on the ceilings or blood stains on the mattress. That sounds nightmarish.

Just started a new job in Cleveland, Ohio and it was my first road trip to see prospects and customers in Tennessee and Alabama. The President of our Company happened to be in Nashville and told me to stop by for a cocktail at his hotel which was the DoubleTree Inn, the Hotel was brand new stunning gorgeous. We had a few drinks and hit it off great.
We were having a lot of fun and I didn't have a hotel booked yet for the night so I hinted that we should hang out late and I would get a room at the DoubleTree too, he tells me it's $350 a night so I knew that was out.
I'm really tired and buzzed but get in my rental car and start heading toward my first appointment in the morning and start looking for a hotel in the area. When I get off the exit the road has hotels/motels one after another with the price right on the marquees, I pass $ 89.95, $ 79.95, $ 69.95 but I figure "lets impress the boss" and show him I'll save the company money, i keep going $ 59.95, $ 49.95, I get to $ 39.95 and figured that's cheap enough, pulled into the driveway then notice the next one down is $ 29.95 wow I'll really save them money and turned around, go into the $ 29.95, the lobby didn't look bad so I took a room. It was terribad, even the cockroaches had better motels, didn't touch anything, passed out in my cloths and shoes on top of the bed cover, jumped in the shower in the morning without touching anything, threw the cloths I slept in the garbage and got the hell out of there. From then on I only stayed at Hampton Inns.

used to go to NYC a lot, Hotel room rates have always been insane but luckily was warned about that Holiday Inn, if you have a car you can go to Queens, find something reasonable around Laguardia Airport located in Jamaica NY a bad neighborhood. There used to be a nice Hotel in Staten Island for $100

Was working for a company in Nashua NH around 15 years ago, and went to take a trip to Maine with my GF at the time, so our corporate secretary said she would help me with hotel accomodations. I asked her to get us a place in Portland, Maine.

GF and I are in our rental car, and its around midnight by the time we get to Portland, so we find out hotel (was actually a motel) I believe, called Kings Manor(Kings Inn?). It turns out it was a motel truckstop, and a sleezy looking one at that. Unfortunately, we are too tired to go somewhere else so we begrudgingly check in.

Around 2 am, my GF wakes me up, and she is panicking...she looked like she saw a ghost...terrified....

"Oh My God, Oh My God!...wake up!! Wake Up!!"

    Me: What is going on?

    Her: "Listen....LISTEN!!..."

Me: (sitting in silence for around 10 seconds) " I dont hear anything"

<then, from the room directly above ours I hear a voice>

    "Earl.......EARL!!!!.......PUT THAT GUN DOWN!!!"

    FML

we got no sleep the rest of the night. GF was completely rattled.

Had the displeasure of "staying" at the Days Inn in Buellton, CA a few years back. The Chumash Casino had a pretty big tournament that day and my neighbors at the time let me know that there was going to be a wedding happening that night so I figured it would be best if I stayed the night up there. However, all of the hotel rooms around the area were booked solid so the only option was this piece of shit that was 15 minutes from the casino. They said that all rooms were equipped with WiFi and that turned out to be a lie. They put me in a smoking room when I requested a non-smoking room. I ended up playing all night and in to the morning so technically I only stayed there for a grand total of 30 minutes which was 29 minutes too long.

We didn't get a car - we walked everywhere and took cabs when we were in a hurry or feet got tired. We honestly spent so little time in the hotel room, that it wouldn't have made sense to pay more or go further out. I want to go back!

Stayed at some shithole that didn't seem too bad until about midnight, when the cops busted into the room next door and tear gassed the fuck out of the place. I had my now ex-gf and our two year old daughter with me at the time. Of course the kid loved it but I was like bleh....time to find a different spot.

In '02, my girlfriend's brother was graduating boot camp down in Parris Island, so her family and me went down for it. The parents and the grad's girl, were staying 2 days, we were making a week out of it. Fly in to Savannah at night and drive the hour (I think) to the hotel near Parris Island. I'm 99% it was the Days Inn Port Royal. The family had 2 rooms and me and my girl had 1. Got there around 10:30-11:00 PM, check in at the bullet proof glass bank teller style window (WARNING SIGN), and head to our rooms. Mold in the room fridge, bugs all over the fucking place, laughable AC, a fucking nightmare for a room. No f'n way we're staying here, I tell my just-about-crying girlfriend. I mean, this was one of the places suggested by the USMC? Craziness. I see now that their reviews all tell the same story, but I didn't pick the hotel, and I'm not sure I would have chosen anything different anyway. Had no idea it was a shitstorm of filth.

My girl's fam had 2 much better rooms somehow, and they were beat, so they stayed the one night and left the next day, but no way in fuck was I staying there for even a minute longer. Of course, I had paid in cash up front to get it out of the way, because I guess I'm somewhat retarded, so we went right back to the front desk/window. I ask for my money back, because the room is pretty much unusable. Guy protests, I tell him the room is filthy, he's all The rooms get cleaned every day, and I started to get real fucking angry. I'm normally very outwardly calm, I'm pretty much the guy who disarms situations rather than escalates them, but this cunt was NOT gonna roll us for even a penny, or else I was gonna end up in jail that night, probably the only time I ever made a conscious decision that that may in fact be what had to happen here. Raised voice, I started saying shit like well your maid missed the bathroom, the rug, the broken AC... Pablo FrontDesk started to say something about another room and maybe we'll just look and see how dirty the original room really was (even though they were supposedly booked solid like everyone was for grad week), and lost kind of lost it on him. I was yelling at the guy There's fucking mold in the fucking room, by the windows and corners and in the fucking room fridge! You should be shut down entirely for trying to rent a room to someone like that, and if I don' get my fucking money back I'm pretty much gonna use my stay here to make sure the everybody knows what a hellhole this is, and blahblahblah. Without another word from the guy, he went to the cash drawer, looked up the erceipt, and gave me the money back. We drove down the road for a bit to a holiday inn we had passed on the way, and thank fucking god, they had vacancies (despite grad week and everyone saying that everywhere would be all sold out and full). Ended up being the same price as the shithole, but may as well have been a palace at that point. AC, clean and shiny, mold-free, and no bugs indoors...

Cliffs: Days Inn Port Royal in Beaufort SC is a shithole. http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UT...4c7a285c547513

I'm like 90 % sure I've stayed there. I was shocked at how small the rooms were, like little long closets.

This can no way be in the worst ever, but it was a big letdown.
Giants played @ Boston Redsox in 2007.
Stayed at the hotel Buckminster, a block from Fenway.

    * The 1919 Black Sox scandal was hatched there
    * Babe's Ruth's favorite hotel.
    * A block from Fenway

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boston_Hotel_Buckminster

Fucking place looked like it hadn't been renovated since the Babe's last visit, and it was like 150 a night.
It was a shit hole, if anyone is into that, just stop by and check out the lobby, the rooms have nothing cool in them, unless you want to get a feel what a hotel room was like in 1920.
Also, as a person who doesn't know Boston too well, (3 total visits for close to 20 days) I'd say no need to stay near fenway, public transportation is awesome, ( from downtown anyway), and as far as I could tell, there wasn't too much going on near fenway when there is no game.
But game day, wow, they block off yawkee way, and roll out a bar???????

Crowe, first off I love your avatar. Second off, recommended by the USMC is a huge red flag. This is an organization that keeps lower ranking enlisted personnel in condemned motherfucking barracks and then gets mad when they don't clean it to the higher-ups satisfaction. Yeah it's like giving someone a moldy sandwich and getting mad when they don't eat it. I don't know who first said it but basically I loved the Marines but hated the Corps.

Or to cut to the chase we would say eat the apple, fuck the Corps.

Feels ya braj, one year we stayed at this La Quinta for the chicago poker classic.

After we checked in we had to pull around and park closer to the room, the truck we parked next to had all the windows and back window blown out of it. The guy had like garbage bags as windows but they weren't taped on properly so it would only be covering like half a window. Then as we're walking down the hall to get into the room the guys room right next to us door was wide open (no cleaning lady, he was just kicking it) I peaked in and he was just laying on the bed with like 2 crave cases visible and the little burger holders spewed all around the room. The first thing I wondered was what were the odds that the windowless truck was his?
