Amazing quality given the year this was recorded (and left on film until recently).

re: 1924 series...the footage of Walter Johnson i found very interesting...as i kid i read stories of his overpowering fastball and how he dominated...yet, his pitching style, sidearm, would be considered less that optimal nowadays; also, i recall reading that his fastball was clocked at 90 mph, which is rather commonplace now, even with a pitching mound of only 10" (in Johnson's day it was 15")...Johnson was 6'1" and 200lbs, somewhat undersized for current major league pitcher although large in his day: his nickname was "the Big Train"---obviously the game is played by bigger, faster and stronger men with better equipment and understanding of biomechanics

    Cool footage.

Never realized Walter Johnson was a side arm pitcher.

Was there some law that all men had to wear hats in those days?

It will be another pitching battle tomorrow but Bumgarner vs. Fister.

At this point I don't think either of these teams are going to the ship.

I stand by my statement that the 18inning marathon heartbreaker destroyed the Nats will to win. My predictions for the ALDS' both came to fruition and I stand by my prediction of Dodgers in 4 over St Louis... LA San Fran will be rough but still believe LA pulls it out (although as Detroit proved against B'more great pitching cant overcome a shitty bullpen so their Bullpen needs to keep their shit together, They still have Wilson who would love nothing better then to stick it to his old team Im sure though).
