He was all unshaven and combat booted, and I was wearing my white guy stuff. He said "really" and had a wtf look on his face. I think he thought I was making fun of him or something. I wanted to tell him what my favorite albums are and how much better Dave Lombardo is than other speed metal drummers. I knew this would ruin Slayer for him so I just said "yeah, saw them back in 03" and that was that.

I was in Santa Barbara this weekend and met a couple and their daughter who had just gone through freshman orientation at UCSB. My wife mentioned to the couple that that was where I went to college. The father cracked, you just graduated last year, right? I said no I graduated in 96 and the daughter pipes up, oh thats when I was born. Damn.
