Does anyone care about a Pink Floyd album that isn't Dark Side or the Wall, or maybe Wish You Were Here? I like that stuff, but there's another 10 albums of either post Roger Waters crap or early records consisting of Syd Barrett jerking off. There's a few high points, but overall, nothing special.
    Ummagumma- Amazing!

    Meddle- Amazing!

    Animals- Amazing!

The Beatles are the greatest, and begat Floyd who are also one of the all time best.

It may be anecdotal, but I'm not sure I know a 40 year old may who can't name 5 Floyd songs.

The real question is how many of them have tripped on mushrooms and watched The Wizard of Oz synced with Dark Side of the Moon.

    Better at what?

Both are great bands, but overall it's really not even close. The Beatles were the most innovative, important band in the history of rock-n-roll.

U2 was and is a great band, but it really ends there. IMHO though, as far as studio recordings they stopped being great after The Unforgettable Fire.
better at making music and sounding good

i Listened to one of the Beetles albums the other day and enjoyed it. I was able to dance along to many of their songs, and found them to be quite catchy.

Despite his musical nous, the story about Lennon putting out a cigarette on a MATISSE at the Playboy Mansion has always bothered me deeply.

How has this not been posted yet?

    Gilmour Waters & Lennon McCartney.

The same sum is greater than the parts magic. This discussion always spawns an endless list songwriter/musicians who seem to always part ways wishing each other was dead.

Eagles Frey & Henley were another.

Always happens when the artists were young FWW.

Floyd v Beatles. It's art & love them both.

The Kinks in general, and Dave Davies specifically, are criminally underrated.

I'd love to know who wrote this first song because it's inevitable even if you work
    together in a grocery store.

Legit not a huge fan of those.

Meddle is my shit, and Live at Pompeii is the only thing I would take on a one way trip to Mars.

Meddle is probably my most played PF album.
