So I've been dealing with mid upper back/ neck pain since early this year.

I'm having a hard time getting a solid diagnosis on exactly what it is. They tell me it's a bit of simple degenerative arthritis on xray, not of the rheumatoid variety. But then they'll do an MRI and rule that out as the origin of the pain.

It's a strange pain. It isn't truly debilitating, but it's beyond nagging often. It hurts less standing than sitting. Sitting with shoulders rounded forward is when it's at it's worst, so I've ben doing yoga and trying to improve posture. Things help temporarily, but it persists.

I have a Percocet script, and a prescription NSAID script, but they aren't real good long term solutions. I grow tolerant very quickly. I get a great effect on 5mg on Monday, but by Friday I need 15mg to get same effect. For obvious reasons this makes it an unsustainable solution. I've been working them in rotation trying to stem tolerance, but even that isn't a real tenable answer, as that combo isn't very kind to the liver. It's not ruining my life or anything, but it's hampering stuff I really enjoy.

I liked weed young. For some reason in my late 20s, it flipped on me all of a sudden and caused anxiety. I tried it again some years later, but got the same reaction. I stuck to my alcohol and cocaine.

Now older, minus any cocaine use, and a moderate drinker, I'm thinking of giving it a try again simply to see if it may help until I sort out exactly what's causing my problem.

My problem is that weed bothered me before, and from what I understand, it's been continually tweaked stronger. That's not what I'm looking for at all. I'm looking for something that would be considered the weakest thing available, so if I have a bad reaction, it's lessened in intensity. I want the Coors Light of weed for experimental reasons.



What do I ask for? Will I be able to find it in a non-medicinal weed state?

Any info or suggestions are appreciated

You want an indica - or a high CBD, low THC strain for pain while minimizing paranoia/anxiety. I think some of the new high-CBD strains don't even really get you that high. I've never tried them so I have no experience, but you might want to search for those - might only be found in medical weed states though?

various conditions. Basically if you're alive there's strain that will help.

Me Mom, god bless her heart, was told she had breast cancer and my brother bought her three different preparations of the plant in question.
One was a small tub of what looked like just a very thick tar.

Anywho, she didn't care for it but there it sat, so why not give it a go.

Well, after two hours I felt nothing and went to bed. I woke up listening to a comedy podcast and almost cried laughing.
Next night same thing but no podcast this time and everything I thought of made me laugh hysterically. And I fell back to sleep as well So
the strain is everything. I gave it up in my teens as well because it made me anxious.

One night, I take some early but my Mom has to go to the emergency. At this point I was ripped but I had no choice so off we went.
Despite the tense situation I was as loose as a goose. We met my sister there and had to wait. Well again it was nothing but funny while we waited.

One thing that did happen, probably because I ingested too much, was that my speech became affected. Not like slurring, but more my mouth
forgot how to form words. A few days later I had some in the afternoon(pattern developing) and my Mom noticed my inability to speak, moms know everything,
But again a hoot.

Never got the strain of the tar, but I since tried another source with the same claims. It's nice and I've only smoked it but it's not like this other stuff.

BTW the strain of the new stuff is appropriately called, "Trainwreck"

It's worth exploring and you'll probably have to, not want to but have to try several varieties.

I have the same weed story as you. Enjoyed it in my 20's and then quit it when the anxiety started.

Now it's different. Indica is the way to go, as someone already said. But, I've found that the 90-95% indicas are too powerful a sedative for a lightweight like me. At my dispensary they actually state the percentages of the strain. I'm using a 70% indica and there is not anxiety associated with it and I don't get that heavy comatose feeling.

Best thing to remember is that weed is so much more powerful than the 90's and before. Start small and find your groove. I haven't used anything except weed for pain in a year and couldn't be happier with the results.

Did i read that you live in the midwest? I do, and its completely standard to just ask around people you kinda trust/seem cool until you find what youre looking for. West coast now and it's so mainstream they say you need a Drs. prescription but I didn't. Ordered it online, but if you get a prescription you can walk in a try different varieties. Storefront businesses. Becoming huge, legit business, almost everywhere.

There are good strains that are high CBD but in a non medical state there is no way you are finding them, and even if you find someone who "claims" to have it, it probably isn't what they say.

The overall market still favors the high THC strains. About the only way to get exactly what you want is to grow it yourself. That is a 6 month proposition with all types of shit you probably don't want to deal with.

Might try edibles, they are a different "high" that is more body and much less in the head. A lot of people prefer them for pain relief and the non smoking healthier factor. That would probably be best. They also last a very long time compared to smoking more like all that pseudo heroin you are on right now.

I would run and run fast away from all that shit.

Yep, to relax your body you should go for indica. If I was in the USA I would just call up one of the better weed dispensaries in another state and just tell them what you are looking for. But I dont know if that really helps if you do not have a good man who offers different strains and knows what he sells.

Not sure about the situation in non medical states but I guess you should just look to get your hands on some/any indica and only smoke/eat/vape a little bit and go from there.

If you think it could be a long time solution for your pain think about growing some ruderalis indica. Easy to grow, lower THC, higher CBD.
