Yeah its weird how people think that this is variance... like folks are honestly like "well a couple of good El Nino years and we will be straight". Yeah not so much, this is the new standard. And when you look at rivers like the Truckee, where all its water comes from snowmelt, shit gets real wicked because the whole snowmelt dynamics are straight fucked now. El Nino isnt going to deposit snow on mountains that act like a slow release battery for the rest of the year anymore. With the temperatures doing what they do, we are going to have two speeds on that river; horrific flooding and 30% capacity. Probably not a whole lot in between.

Folsom Lake is DRY and water levels have dropped at least 30 feet or more over the last 2 decades
it's much worse in Southern Ca
this is why water is the new gas
at least on the west coast
especially in Mexico. they have stations here where people buy filtered/purified water.
