Paul George gruesome leg injury playing for USA Basketball

    Gruesome, game called after. (1:04)

I have wondered if a day would come when contractually players would be barred from playing in these types of situations. Doubt this would change much but, the U.S's elite college players could probably compete with the best teams in the world if the NBA guys were not on those teams as well.

I know gold medals are a big thing but, this is devastating for Paul George and the Indiana Pacers. Double down on them Cleveland Cavaliers futures bets while you still can...

Oh god, I heard a crack and thought it was the actual sound of his leg breaking, but upon rewatching, I think the sound comes a bit later.

    So brutal.

Paul George will be lucky to recover from that injury.

when I was a freshman in high school, I fell 20 feet off the pegboard on the top rung and landed on my left arm

double compound fracture of both the radius and ulna

both bones popped right through my skin

was in a cast for 15 weeks

I can't watch any of the leg breaks.

I didn't see this one live but was watching Aaron Ramsey (soccer guy) and Kevin Ware (Louisville guy) when it happened.

I did see a still and holy shit. I usually am not bothered by gore but there is something about a leg snapping that gives me the chills. I almost vomited when I saw the Kevin Ware one in slow motion for the first time.

Too bad, he's one of the best players in the NBA, arguably second best two-way player. I can now add Indiana to my 'League Pass teams that I NEVER watch' list, along with Detroit and Philadelphia. Without Lance and Paul George...no thanks.

Possibly, but they need to work out and play to get near game speed. So whether it is vs these guys or their own team it doesn't really make a difference if they are going full speed

Nice to hear. Very relevant to this thread.

What a attention whore you are. A thread that has nothing to do with you, and you post your broken arm. STFU

Being stoned on a basketball court playing Horse and busting your leg, is just not remotely similar to an NBA player making $17M a year.

If this was some type of drunk softball league thread, we get it.

As an aside, at least it wasn't Derrick Rose. He has looked great but what hasn't really been reported is how ripped he looks. Dude's upper body looks amazing and if he can adjust his game like Chris Paul did post-injuries (obv differently) and become more of a traditional point guard, game over. This might not be possible, as guys like him and Russell Westbrook excel by basically playing like old Cavs LeBron but in a smaller body.

If the Bulls get 75% of 2011 Derrick Rose, Cleveland is in for trouble. I think that Pau Gasol still has 2-3 really good years in him and he is a huge upgrade over Boozer. Noah has become a truly unique specimen with the passing acumen of a top PG.

Cleveland has the best player on the planet, a mercurial but talented point guard in Irving, a potentially good player in Waiters and will likely add the second most devastating offensive player in the league in Love. As a fan, I would so much rather LeBron have to make it work with Wiggins/Bennett but throwing Love into the mix is almost scary. I would still pip Cleveland though, regardless. 'Bron gonna 'Bron, best player I have ever seen (I only REALLY remember MJ from 97-98 and think that current LBJ is better than that player).

I hope it is not as bad as the Kevin Ware Kid from Louisville. Pacers were really needing him this year.

The Pacers needed him so they could win a bunch of games then lose in the second or third round of the playoffs because they lack depth and guts.

Without him, they can skip the hope part and go directly to sucking.
