Good and bad news about PFA Radio

I'll give you the bad news first.

It is looking like there will not be PFA Radio for another 17 days. I already canceled the August 5 show due to a scheduling conflict (I won't be available in the evening any time Mon-Thurs next week), and the August 12 show has been delayed until August 15.

This week's show was planned for tonight, but I came down with a cold on Friday night, and it has gotten worse rather than better. I won't be able to make it tomorrow or Thursday, as I am visiting with family on both nights.

Last time I tried to do a show with a cold, my throat hurt intensely when it was over, and in fact seemed to slow my recovery, so I don't want to try that again.

It is looking like the next PFA Radio will be on August 14. I have not canceled tonight's show yet, but it is looking likely to be canceled.

Now time to soften the blow with the good news:

I am in fierce negotiations with Brandon to bring him back to the show semi-regularly.

It's a done deal, radio is off this week.

I have lost most of my voice.

Next radio will be Friday, August 15.

Druff, we all love you, but this drama bomb had me laughing. Did things really categorically change in 20 minutes? First you werent sure and 20 minutes later you had lost your voice? Did you scream the entire time? LOL

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

why is this good news / bad news-- not having radio at the scheduled time/day is just standard news.

I was sitting alone and hadn't had to talk for a few hours. I tried to talk during a phone call and noticed most of my voice was gone.

Don't feel bad. I was sick as a dog for a good week and I very rarely ever get sick.

Isn't a weak immune system. I have a son who brings home a ton of colds and other stuff, and I actually haven't had anything for about 6 months until this. In fact, a few times in a row I was developing a sore throat, was sure it would become a cold like this one, and my body fought it off.

Average person gets 3 colds per year, and it's probably higher when you have a young child in the house. In 2013 I did very well and hardly got sick at all.

Most of the missed radio earlier in the year was due to traveling and from pain after breaking my ribs.

I would rate the severity of this cold as "above average, but not terrible". So I can function, but it's hard to sleep at night, my voice has faded, and it seems to be very slow-moving.

BTW sometimes it's hard to tell if Benjamin is even sick, because he doesn't act sick.

I've seen him with temperatures above 104 where he is acting completely normal, and you wouldn't know he's sick unless you touch his skin and feel how hot it is.

The kid handles being sick very well, both body-wise and attitude-wise.

In some ways this is not a good thing. BUT still way better than having a kid who's sick all the time + cranky about it.

It just has seemed like you had more colds then that or if you do they last a long time but yeah that ribs injury put you out of commission for a while.

    Rest up sir.

Trying to get the old band back together.

Reminds me of the endless speculation that surrounded a Beatles reunion.

In 1976 Sid Bernstein offered $230 million reunion offer. Inflation calculator tells me that would be equivalent to $1 Billion today. ($1 1976 = $4.20 2014)

I don't see anything posted by you on Kickstarter yet.

This also has the feel of the abrown83 Kickstarter scandal last February where he raised 21 green reps with his pitch and never returned them when he didn't do the shows.

bukowski72: I liked it better when SNL offered the Beatles $3,000 to get back together and Paul was hanging out at John's place and they almost went down to play but they didn't think they could make it in time.
