    Joel Osteen

    watched his show this morning

whether you're an atheist, a Muslim, a Jew or whatever your personal faith is

I have to admit, he's a powerful speaker and delivers a strong message that resonates deeply

and this is coming from someone who hasn't been to church in years

I guess he has his share of critics. Today was the first time I ever watched his Sunday show

    thumbs up imo

Pooh I'm not a bible thumper or a Jesus freak ...you should know that by now

but his 'sermon' was a really strong message

it didn't really have anything to do with kooky rituals or scripture etc

I was surprised because in the past I kind of wrote him off as your standard television evangelist hustler

but I enjoyed that program immensely

Ya know I heard him a couple of times when visiting old relatives. He sounded very polished but he said something that really got to me and not in a good way. He said it was ok to be poor and that you don't have to get down on yourself and what-not. Now that is an ok thing to say I suppose, but not when you leave the stage after passing the hat to all of those 'poor' people and taking that money and driving your lambo to your mansion in the hills. He became just another Jim Bakker to me after hearing that. This guy has made his money off of the same people you hear in the news that complain about having to choose between buying their life saving drugs or feeding their 12 cats.

probably because he radiates a lot of positive energy and inspires people

trust me Pooh, I'm a huge cynic on multiple levels

    I didn't see a man selling lies

again, I'm not getting behind TV preachers or anything

but Joel seems legit to me when it comes to spreading a positive message to the masses

not like he is kissing cobras or anything

Don't recall reading in the Bible that Jesus ever took up a collection after one of his sermons. I do believe he said something like give everything away and follow me.

Osteen, who says he never did any of this for money, has an estimated net worth of about $40 million. According to this mega successful pastor, neither he nor his wife takes a salary from the church.

he's delivering a pretty strong message

40 million is chump change in the grand scheme of things

I don't think he's in it for the money

the best part of his sermon was that it wasn't trying to SELL you on God

it was more about personal struggle

he may be rich...but I don't think he is a snake oil salesmen trying to blow smoke up peoples asses

    this is no stereotypical televangelist
