    Premier League 2014/2015 Season

I know most of you white nerds follow baseball (LOL) and Hockey (LOLCANADA), but the beautiful game is obv the greatest sport to watch and the English Premier League is undoubtedly its greatest league. FOOTBALL is a game for sophisticated gentlemen, not inbred rednecks. I still don't understand why most AMURICANS fail to comprehend the complexity of FOOTBALL, it's quite baffling really. Anyways, the upcoming Premier League season is shaping up to be legendary and I thought it would be a good time to start a thread and find out who everyone is supporting.

Arsene Wenger (GOAT MANAGER) has already signed ELECTRIC SANCHEZ from BARTHALONA and has his sights on more world-class signings. Manchester United have not qualified for Europe and have a new manager coming in. Chelsea have decided to spend another trillion dollars and Liverpool have sold their best player.

You can watch all the games on NBC if you want to see quality athletes playing a REAL sport.

Most transfer business has yet to be done. But as it stands Arsenal should get off to a good start, while Manchester City and Chelsea will also be up there when it matters.

Interesting to watch how Manchester United will fare with them not having the burden of playing midweek. LVG will definitely get more out of his players than Moyes, but I don't expect them to challenge for the title.

Hoping the cunt club that is Liverpool will struggle with them playing CL. Them losing Suarez is also huge. He's pretty much irreplaceable.

Spurs should be better than they were last season too. While Everton could be a threat for a CL spot if they spend wisely. Hoping Lukaku will sign permanently, but sounds like Chelsea have changed their mind and now want him to stay. Europa League football could also act as a burden to that great club.

    Prediction

    Chelsea
    Arsenal
    Man City
    Man Utd
    Liverpool
    Everton
    Spurs

    Relegated

    Leicester City
    WBA
    Burnley

Agree, but only to a certain extent, it's spurs after all. Paulinho is quite clearly a fraud and Dembele has gone missing. Eriksen was seemingly the only good purchase they made with the Bale money, yet they will improve because Poccetino is a better manager than AVB. With regards to Liverpool, I sincerely think they already have and will continue to misspend the Suarez money in the same way they spewed the Torres money. Fuck Liverpool. I hope Everton can keep Lukaku; Chelsea should not be allowed to simply buy players and loan them out with the sole purpose of taking points off of their rivals.

Also if you're American/Canadian or w/e and are looking for a English team to start rooting for. Then maybe consider Everton

Lots of recent American history with the likes of Donovan/McBride/Max-Moore. And obviously the great Tim Howard who has played in goal there for years (Also recently signed a new long term contract)

Everton are one of the founder members of the football league and were founded in 1878. No other team in England has spent more seasons playing top flight football than Everton.

They've been champions on 9 occasions and won the FA Cup 5 times. They're known as the peoples club and probably have the most loyal and hardcore fans England has to offer.

here is a Everton fan forum which is a mixture of people who come from the city (Liverpool) and also many fans that are from the USA..

Recent post an American Everton fan made.

Ya that Bale money was spent incredibly poorly. But they weren't 'bad' players as such and reckon they should gel better next season. But like you said..it's Spurs and self destruction is what they do best.. While Liverpool spending 35m on Carroll still has me laughing to this day. Amazing!

And I agree about the loan system totally. But clubs are going to take maximum advantage of shit like that unless the rule makers sort it out.

My first visit to the old Highbury back in 87. Was standing right behind the line of the ball behind the goal - just out of sight of the camera. I was only tiny then, but still one of the best away games I've been too. Was mass violence outside the stadium at the end but didn't care coz knew that result gave us a great chance of winning the title. Which we did end up winning that year.

Was also there a few months back when you twatted us 4-0 in the cup...Absolute disaster of a day.

Had no idea what that was until googled. We don't get RTE at all in the UK (I think)...But the Irish do like to say it like it is..So can imagine the comedy value!

I was annoyed that Chelsea lost David Luiz to PSG. It feels better now.

Curious to see how Diego Costa adjusts to EPL life. I think that he will have immediate impact ala David Silva, Mesut Ozil but then will tail off hard. Good form for an EPL striker is hard to maintain and those La Liga boys usually hit the ground running with their speed before being swallowed up by savvy defenders who adjust.

Hopefully Schurrle's game starts to translate a bit more.

    RIP Liverpool

Looking for a team to adopt this season? Can I suggest NEWCASTLE UNITED.

Here's a recent pic of "the Toon" lifting the FA Cup.

Given how much armour they have to dress up in to play a simple game of rugby, not being able to understand Football should be obvious.
When faced with a difficult decision, ask yourself "What would Micon do?", then do the opposite.

    Summer Transfer Updates:

Costa to Chelsea is finally officially announced (thought the deal was done like 5 months ago)

Khedira to Arsenal rumours are really ramping up to an apex

Vidal possibly to United??? (I hope not)

Liverpool sign Lazar Markovic from Benefica (probably a good signing)

Everton signed Besic (also a very economical signing, will obv be better than Jelavic)

Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal is super interesting. I think he'll be great with that side.

Hoping one of the big sides (obv Chelsea) inks Paul Pogba.
