It's 90 degrees here in NJ and I just saw a picture of Iron and wine and it made me wonder why anyone would want a beard. In addition to dealing with it in the heat you have food and shit to deal with. Beards seem very -EV to me. Weak-chinned folks, maybe?

I shave mine and grow it back pretty regularly. Sometimes its just uncomfortable, like in really hot weather. Other times its just not the look I want. Ultimately I dont put much thought into it either way, and I dont attach much sentiment to it.

beards are uncomfortable, I am glad my facial hair doesn't grow often as I only shave like once a week
Thank you for bringing up this important topic. This is not a good trend that has been forming. Please shave your gross face. Stubble can be okay, but anything more than that is not. And I pretty much know what I'm talking about.
Chest hair should also not be allowed, but that's a whole different topic.

I grew a beard in mid-2008 and have had one almost consistently since then. I never let it get really bushy like the one in the OP here, but I have never found it to be hot or uncomfortable.
Women seemed to also like me better with the facial hair than without it.
PLOL raises a good point, though. If you want to be a twink, a beard just isn't going to fly.
Seriously tho I van dyke in the winter and clean up in the summer. I grow hair like crazy except on my head, which has been increasingly lax. Gare and I are hekka low t. My hair is almost exactly James Spader at this point.
