Took a very long lunch break and saw the game. Was good. Half the goals (including 2 of Ronaldo's) were either scored directly or set up off of flops, but I guess that is just how soccer works, so not gonna complain too much.

Been watching the games. Not every game, but enough. The soccer itself is fun, but man all the guys who barely get touched (or not touched at all in some cases) rolling around in fake agony is getting hard to take. Neymar is an especially brutal case, to no ones surprise I am guessing. Seems to be every country flopping around non stop too, without exception. I guess we just have to accept that soccer is a pussy sport. The game itself is fine, but the theatrics of the players is tough to watch.

The best games I have seen are the ones where a powerhouse gets down early and gets desperate. This includes the Germany, Spain and Brazil (a tie but same principle) games. Most of the games that don't fit this description have been boring.

Poland and Colombia are pretty good. Poland has a bit of a golden generation and Colombia has some excellent players (Falcao, Muriel, James, Cuadrado, Mina).

Fair enough. In fairness with usual suspects like Italy and the Netherlands not making the tourney this year it is probably inevitable some of the groups are going to look weaker on paper. Like Poland might objectively be better than Italy right now, but just based off of pedigree if Italy was in the group instead of Poland I would probably think the group itself was stronger.

I watched the entire match and didn't see any real issue with the referee.

Senegal were pretty damn good, Poland struggled with their pace, good ball skills but just too slow.

That call on the second goal was a joke, but Poland has no reason to complain...they got outplayed, out hustled, and out efforted the whole game...

Referee gave the player permission to return well before the Polish player tried to backpass to the keeper... was a Polish mistake imho.
