Not really a World Cup post, but sort of close.
Anyways, took my son to a Galaxy game last night, his first one. Was a pretty exciting affair. Galaxy went down 3 times in the game, but ultimately came back to win 4-3, and could have won by a lot more. The Orlando goalie actually had some really good saves, which you don't normally say about a goalie that allows 4 goals in a game.
Ibrahimovic scored 3 of the goals and assisted on the other. There wasn't really any other tall players on either team (except for the sweeper for Galaxy who never stood next to Ibrahimovic), so it literally looked like an adult playing with little kids he was so much bigger and broader than everyone else. Ashley Cole was also on the Galaxy, but he looked pretty washed up and was probably outplayed by the Orlando no name guy he was up against.
Probably set up some unrealistic expectations for my son because the next 10 games he goes to are probably going to be 0-0 or 1-0 snoozers. Despite Ibrahimovic dominating the game, my son actually decided he is a fan of the other forward, named Kamara, who almost scored like 4 goals himself.. He was able to consistently get good shots off but just didn't appear to have that final touch to put the ball into the net, which probably separates great from good forwards, although he had a real nice assist on one of Ibrahimovich's goals.
This was the very start of the game. Midfield about 16 rows up. The sun was just going down when the game started so wasn’t an issue after 5 min of the game.
