Dead at 54 from cancer.
When I read he died, I was sure it would be from a heart attack, given he has been overweight for many years.
So apparently he had cancer and never made it public.
He would have hit .400 in 1994 if not for the strike.
Pretty sure this guy didn't do roids. Never had much power, never developed muscular looking body in later career.
Interestingly, he stole 56 bases one year when he was still thin.
