Penguins Fire Bylsma

For all the hockey fans:

The Pittsburgh Penguins have fired coach Dan Bylsma and hired Jim Rutherford as their new general manager.

Bylsma won a franchise-record 252 games behind the bench but failed to produce a bookend to the championship he captured with stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin in 2009. The Penguins were just 4-5 in playoff series since raising the Cup, with each loss coming to a lower-seeded team, or as Druff would describe it, a joke

They also hire Jim Rutherford, late of the Carolina Hurricanes as GM but announced that he's not planning to make any in season moves because that would be "lame" & cheapen the regular season for everybody.

 

Okay, that last part isn't true.

We'll see how this works out for them.

I predicted before the playoffs started that if Pittsburgh didn't win the cup or were at least in the finals that Bylsma would be fired & he would end up in Vancouver. I still believe this.

Not surprised. They have too much talent although always questionable goalies.

I've heard their is a split between Crosby and Malkin it Pitts.

Last ditch chance for them to stay together this upcoming season? No way Crosby is traded its only a matter of time before Malkin leaves or is dealt.

Rumor in Van is that its more likely between Willie Dejardins and John Stevens since they lost out on Trotz. I am leaning toward Steven's otherwise I think they would have hired someone already. I don't think Bylsma is a good fit here other than his connection with Kesler.
