    Its almost certain there was no breach/disclosure of keys and/or source, so your thread topic is kinda inapropes.

    Per Krebs' article; post-XP version of windows do native disk encryption (lol) and so with the development faucet cut off for Truecrypt, they just said fuck it.

    Nulzsec just made a pretty compelling case that the actions taken by the truecrypt staff were what is referred to in legal circles as a 'canary'. In this case, that means that they received some sort of injunction or other invasive request from, for example, the NSA, and this is their way of legally warning the world that they have basically been put in a compromised position with regards to the integrity of the product.
