Meet Stephanie Pontarolo. She is a 33-year-old lesbian from San Diego, married to another woman.
Stephanie is the more feminine of the two women.
Pontarolo was driving her Toyota Tacoma on Interstate 8 in San Diego. Somehow she got into an argument with another driver, 21-year-old Kelsey Shakespeare:
Witnesses say that Pontarolo flipped off the other woman with both hands, and then rammed her Tacoma into the other's much smaller vehicle. This somewhat backfired, as both vehicles crashed and Pontarolo's vehicle flipped.
This was coincidentally recorded and posted to YouTube by a guy who drives around with a dashcam:
Amazingly, neither woman was hurt all that much. Stephanie Pontarolo has not yet been arrested.
I was curious about this story because it's unusual in that it involves two women. Almost all serious road rage incidents involve men, with the majority involving young men. Women will yell at each other and flip each other off, but it very rarely escalates into violence.
I thought to myself, "I wonder if this Pontarolo chick is a lesbian," and sure enough, a visit to her Facebook reveals she is.
I wondered this because of the typically male nature of this type of crime, and it's well known that many lesbians have various masculine traits and behaviors.
Interestingly, a male relative of Pontarolo posted a comment on that Facebook page, insisting the crash was an accident. Given the witness reports and the recorded incident, I seriously doubt that.
