The chip leader at event #9 at the Chicago Poker Classic really had a few tricks up his sleeve.

Those "tricks" were 6k worth of chips, according to Gillian Epp, who was there and tweeted the following:

Police were at the Horseshoe Yesterday. The chipleader from Event9 had 6K TC in his sleeve, apparently he had no malicious intentions.

He was banned from all Caesars properties, and those chip are out of play today, as the remaining players return.

Apparently they fell into his sleeve. I asked, were they gravity defying sleeves, and was told they were very big sleeves.

I don't even know what to say about this.

Is it really possible that $6k worth of tournament chips (I'm assuing a 5k and 1k chip) could fall into one's sleeves without being noticed AND without falling out?

Though I do have to say that "sleeving" tournament chips isn't very smart, when it really isn't that hard to pocket them. Then again, some of these chip thieves/cheaters simply aren't that bright (see Christian Lusardi).

Weird.
